1978–79 NK Rijeka Season
The 1978–79 season was the 33rd season in Rijeka’s history and their 17th season in the Yugoslav First League. Their 5th place finish in the 1977–78 season meant it was their fifth successive season playing in the Yugoslav First League. HNK Rijeka
Hrvatski nogometni klub Rijeka (), commonly referred to as HNK Rijeka, is a Croatian professional association football club from the city of Rijeka. HNK Rijeka competes in Croatia's top division, Croatian First Football League, Supersport HNL, of which they have been members since its foundation in 1992 and is the 2024-25 Croatian Football League, current champion. Zvjezdan Radin
Zvjezdan Radin (born 28 October 1953) is a Croatian retired football player and manager. Career As a player, he was part of NK Rijeka's golden generation which won the Yugoslav Cup in 1978 and 1979. He was a defender and is the second most capped Rijeka player of all time with 621 appearances in all competitions. He also scored 15 goals during his time in Rijeka as he was a prolific free kick taker. Although one of Rijeka's most talented players, he never made an appearance in the Yugoslavia national team due to biases in favour of players from the "big four" (Red Star Belgrade, Partizan Belgrade, Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split). Karađorđe Stadium
Karađorđe Stadium ( sr-Cyrl-Latn, Стадион Карађорђе, Stadion Karađorđe) is a multi-purpose stadium in Novi Sad, Serbia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Vojvodina. The stadium is one of the most modern stadiums in Serbia and has one of the best pitches in the country. Gradski vrt Stadium () is a multi-use stadium in Osijek, Croatia. It is located in the Gradski vrt neighbourhood in Novi grad city district. With a capacity of 18,856, it has been best known as the home ground of Croatian football club NK Osijek. History Construction started in 1949, but works were stopped several times. The first match played on the ground of Gradski Vrt was played between NK Osijek and FK Sloboda Tuzla on 7 September 1958. In 1980, the stadium was officially opened. Miloš Hrstić
Miloš Hrstić (born 20 November 1955) is a Croatian football coach and former player. During his club career he played for HNK Rijeka, Deportivo de La Coruña and Olimpija Ljubljana. He earned ten caps for the Yugoslavia national team, and participated in the 1982 FIFA World Cup. Playing career Club Miloš Hrstić was born in Vojnić. He started his senior career in Rijeka, where he passed all the young selections and was a member of all Yugoslavia youth team selections, from U15 to U21.
