It was disputed between CS Universitatea Craiova, Universitatea Craiova and FC Steaua București, Steaua București, and was won by CS Universitatea Craiova, Universitatea Craiova after a game with 3 goals. 1976–77 Cupa României
The 1976–77 Cupa României was the 39th edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The title was won by Universitatea Craiova against Steaua București. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament. First round proper matches are played on the ground of the lowest ranked team, then from the second round proper the matches are played on a neutral location. If a match is drawn after 90 minutes, the game goes in extra time, and if the scored is still tight after 120 minutes, then the winner will be established at penalty kicks. From the first edition, the teams from Divizia A entered in competition in sixteen finals, rule which remained till today. Nicolae Tilihoi
Nicolae Tilihoi (9 December 1956 – 25 March 2018) was a Romanian professional footballer who played as a defender. He spent most of his career with Universitatea Craiova, where he was an indispensable member of the golden generation known as ''Craiova Maxima''. Tilihoi was often nicknamed "the Iron Defender of Craiova". After retirement, Tilihoi coached several club teams, such as Metalul Bocșa, Jiul Craiova, Electroputere Craiova, Chimia Râmnicu Vâlcea, Callatis Mangalia and Drobeta-Turnu Severin. International career Tilihoi made nine appearances for the Romania senior team between 1979 and 1981. Death Tilihoi died early in the morning of 25 March 2018, at the age of 61, after struggling for several years with an incurable disease. He was buried two days later in Craiova. Teodor Anghelini
Teodor Anghelini (born 9 March 1954) is a retired Romanian footballer and current youth coach. Anghelini, who is of Italian descent, played for hometown club Steagul Roșu Brașov between 1971 and 1974, before joining Steaua București, where he spent 10 seasons, winning two league titles and two Romanian Cups. Club career Teodor Anghelini, nicknamed "Briceagul Sicilian" (The Sicilian Penknife) by writer Fănuș Neagu, was born in March 1954 in Brașov, Romania, starting to play junior level football at local club, Steagul Roșu in 1968. He made his Divizia A debut on 3 May 1972, aged 18 under the guidance of coach Nicolae Proca in a 2–0 away loss in front of UTA Arad. In the following two seasons he appeared in all the league games except one, in his last season also scoring two goals, including one in a 1–0 win over FC Constanța which helped Steagul finish on the third place and earn qualification for the UEFA Cup. Dumitru Moraru
Dumitru Moraru (born 8 May 1956) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper from 1972 until 1991. Club career Dumitru Moraru was born in București, growing up in the Pantelimon neighborhood, where he started playing football in 1966 at the junior teams of Metalul București, where he earned the nickname "Țețe" (Tsetse) after a teammate told him in a cantonment that he sleeps so much as he would have been bitten by a tsetse fly. In two seasons spent at Metalul's senior team, he played 56 games in Divizia B, after which he went to play for Steaua București. He made his Divizia A debut under coach Constantin Teașcă on 25 August 1974, playing for Steaua in a derby against Dinamo București, which ended with a 2–0 loss, however his performance in the match was appreciated by journalist Eftimie Ionescu who gave him an 8 in the ''Sportul'' newspaper. Rodion Gorun Cămătaru (; born 22 June 1958) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a striker. Club career Universitatea Craiova Rodion Cămătaru was born on 22 June 1958 in Strehaia, being given his Divizia A debut at age 17 by coach Constantin Cernăianu, playing for Universitatea Craiova on 10 November 1974 in a 1–1 against CFR Cluj. Dumitru Marcu
Dumitru "Mitică" Marcu (born 9 April 1950) is a Romanian former professional football forward and manager. Despite Marcu started his career at Steaua București, he remained as a legendary player of the first golden generation of Universitatea Craiova, nicknamed "The Champion of a Great Love", together with players such as: Ion Oblemenco, Petre Deselnicu, Alexandru Boc or Theodor Țarălungă, among others. Aurel Beldeanu
Aurel "Aurică" Beldeanu (born 5 March 1951), is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Born in Dobroești, Ilfov County Beldeanu started his football career at Progresul București and played almost 100 matches for the team from the park with platans. Then he moved to FCM Reșița and played another 101 matches for the team from Valea Domanului. In 1976 Aurel Beldeanu signed with Universitatea Craiova, being part of the Craiova's second golden team, named as ''Craiova Maxima''.
