Divizia A
Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1 and officially known as SuperLiga for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Romania and the highest level of the Romanian football league system. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation from and to Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table. Liga I was established in 1909 and commenced play for the 1909–10 Divizia A, 1909–10 campaign, being currently 25th in UEFA's UEFA coefficient#League coefficient, league coefficient ranking list. It is administered by the Liga Profesionistă de Fotbal, also known by the acronym LPF. FC Corvinul Hunedoara
Asociaţia Club Sportiv FC Corvinul Hunedoara 1921 (), commonly known as Corvinul Hunedoara or simply Corvinul, is a Romanian professional Football (soccer), football club based in the city of Hunedoara, Hunedoara County, that competes in the Liga II. Founded in 1921 as ''Fero Sport Hunedoara'', the club bore various names over time, but stuck with Corvinul, inspired by the history of the Hunyadi family () and the local Corvin Castle. Under this name, the team achieved its best performances during the 1980s, when it was a constant appearance in the Liga I, top flight. Between 1979 and 1982, Corvinul was coached by Mircea Lucescu, who would go on to become one of the most successful Romanian managers. Following the Romanian Revolution, fall of communism, Corvinul relegated to the Liga II, Divizia B in 1992 and have not yet returned to the top flight. 1977–78 UEFA Cup
The 1977–78 UEFA Cup was the seventh season of the UEFA Cup, the third-tier club football competition organised by UEFA. The final was played over two legs at the Stade Armand-Cesari, Furiani, France, and at the Philips Stadion, Eindhoven, the Netherlands. It was won by PSV Eindhoven of the Netherlands, who defeated Bastia of France by an aggregate result of 3–0 to claim their first UEFA Cup title. Playing in their first European final, PSV Eindhoven became the latest of the Grote Drie trio of big Dutch teams to win a European title. On the other hand, Bastia was the only French team to reach a UEFA Cup final until 1996. FC Sportul Studențesc, commonly referred to as Sportul, was a Romanian professional football club based in Bucharest, that last played at senior level in the Liga IV. Founded in 1916, Sportul Studențesc was one of the oldest Romanian clubs still active. The club's best European performance came in the 1979–80 Balkans Cup, when it won the trophy, defeating Yugoslav side NK Rijeka in the final. The club made it to the Balkans Cup final on one other occasion, in 1976, when it lost to another Yugoslav side, Dinamo Zagreb. In the UEFA Cup, Sportul Studențesc's most notable performance came in the 1987–88 season, when the club reached the Third Round.
