1974–75 QMJHL Season
The 1974–75 QMJHL season was the sixth season in the history of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Ten teams played 72 games each in the schedule. The Sherbrooke Castors finished first overall in the regular season to capture the Jean Rougeau Trophy, and won the President's Cup, defeating the Laval National in the finals. Jim Montgomery (ice Hockey)
Jim Montgomery (born June 30, 1969) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player who is the head coach for the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL). Originally undrafted by teams in the NHL, he played a total of six seasons for the Blues, Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, San Jose Sharks, and Dallas Stars. Playing career Montgomery played for the Cégep de Saint-Laurent Patriotes in Montreal in 1987–88, before joining the Pembroke Lumber Kings, junior A hockey team in the Central Canada Hockey League in 1988–89. The following season he joined the University of Maine and played four years with the team, winning numerous awards and establishing himself as one of the best prospects in ice hockey. Most notably he was named an All-Star for three consecutive years (1991, 1992, 1993), and was named NCAA tournament's most outstanding player (MOP) when he captained Maine to a record of 42–1–2 and the 1993 National championship. Orval Tessier
Orval Roy Tessier (June 30, 1933 – August 25, 2022) was a Canadian professional ice hockey centre and coach who played parts of three seasons in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins between 1954 and 1960, appearing in a total of 59 regular season games. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1953 to 1965, was spent in the minor leagues, where he was a solid offensive player. He won two scoring titles with the Eastern Professional Hockey League's Kingston Frontenacs, and was voted the league's most valuable player and most sportsmanlike player in the 1961–62 season. After playing, Tessier had a successful coaching career. In junior ice hockey, Tessier coached the Cornwall Royals to Memorial Cup victory in 1972. Tessier coached the 1981 Memorial Cup finalists, the Kitchener Rangers. The next season, Tessier was hired to coach the New Brunswick Hawks in the American Hockey League. Normand Dupont
Normand Joseph Gilles Dupont (born February 5, 1957) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward. As a youth, he played in the 1970 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Montréal-Nord. Dupont started his National Hockey League career with the Montreal Canadiens in 1979. He also played for the Winnipeg Jets and Hartford Whalers. He left the NHL after the 1984 season. Richard Mulhern
Richard Sidney Mulhern (born March 1, 1955) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. Mulhern was born in Edmonton, Alberta and raised in Beaconsfield, Quebec. Before playing in the NHL, he played for the Sherbrooke Castors. Also, around the end of his career he played with the Tulsa Oilers and Dallas Black Hawks, of the Central Hockey League. Mulhern started his National Hockey League career with the Atlanta Flames in 1975, after being picked eighth overall in the 1975 Amateur Draft and being first sent to Tulsa where he played 56 games during the 1975-76 season. Pierre Mondou
Joseph Pierre Mondou (born November 27, 1955) is a former Canadian ice hockey forward. Mondou played in the National Hockey League from 1977 to 1985. During this time, he played for the Montreal Canadiens his entire career. He won three Stanley Cups while with the Habs in 1977, 1978 and 1979. Danny Lecours
Danny Lecours (born October 5, 1955) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey player. Born in 1955 in Princeville, Quebec, Lecours played three seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Quebec Remparts and Chicoutimi Saguenéens. Lecours also played two seasons in the semi-pro USHL (with the Milwaukee Admirals) before he began his professional career in 1977 with the Milwaukee Admirals of the International Hockey League where over nine seasons he played 554 regular season games and registered 360 goals and 282 assists for 642 points, while earning 345 penalty minutes. Lecours also played 45 playoff games for the Admirals, scoring 16 goals and 15 assists for 31 points, with 27 minutes in penalties.
