Statistics of the Mexican Primera División for the 1974–75 season. Overview Tigres de la UANL, UANL was promoted to Primera División. Segunda División semifinalists, Atlético Potosino, UASLP-Pumas (who re-branded to Atlético Potosino) and Unión de Curtidores were promoted to the Primera División to increase the number of teams to 20. Leones Negros UdeG, UdeG acquired Club de Fútbol Torreón, Torreón franchise. This season was contested by 20 teams, and Deportivo Toluca F.C., Toluca won the championship. Petroleros de Ciudad Madero, Ciudad Madero was relegated to Segunda División. Liga MX
Liga MX, also known as Liga BBVA MX for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Mexico and the highest level of the Mexican football league system. Formerly known as Liga Mayor (1943–1949) and also as Primera División de México (1949–2012), it has 18 participating clubs, with each season divided into two short tournaments, ''Apertura'' from July to December and ''Clausura'' from January to May. The champions are decided by a final phase called ''"liguilla"''. Since 2020, promotion and relegation has been suspended, which is to last until 2026. Club Tigres de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, abbreviated as Tigres UANL and simply known as Tigres or internationally as Tigres de México, is a Mexican professional Association football, football club based in the Monterrey metropolitan area, Nuevo León, Mexico.
