1974–75 DDR-Oberliga
The 1974–75 DDR-Oberliga was the 26th season of the DDR-Oberliga, the first tier of league football in East Germany. The league was contested by fourteen teams. 1. FC Magdeburg won the championship, the club's third and last East German championships. Manfred Vogel of BSG Sachsenring Zwickau was the league's top scorer with 17 goals, while Jürgen Pommerenke of 1. FC Magdeburg won the seasons East German Footballer of the year award. On the strength of the 1974–75 title Magdeburg qualified for the 1975–76 European Cup where the club was knocked out by Malmö FF in the first round. Seventh-placed club BSG Sachsenring Zwickau qualified for the 1975–76 European Cup Winners' Cup as the seasons FDGB-Pokal winners and was knocked out by R.S.C. Anderlecht in the semi-finals. DDR-Oberliga
The DDR-Oberliga (English: ''East German Premier League'' or ''GDR Premier League'') was the top-level association football league in East Germany. Overview Following World War II, separate sports competitions emerged in the Allied-occupied Germany, occupied eastern and western halves of Germany, replacing the ''Gauligas'' of the Nazism, Nazi era. Malmö Fotbollförening (), commonly known simply as Malmö FF or MFF, is a Swedish professional football club based in Malmö, Scania. History The club was founded as ''SC Riesa'' in 1903 in the cellar of the local pub "Bodega" and was renamed ''Riesaer SV'' two years later. In 1917, they fused with ''FC Wettin'' and went on to play quietly as a local club until 1936 when they advanced to the Gauliga Sachsen, one of sixteen divisions in the top flight of German football during the Third Reich. After World War II the club was dissolved and replaced by the ''SG Riesa'' in late 1945. Three years later the club developed an affiliation with the local steelworkers and came to be known as ''BSG Stahl Riesa''. The DDR-Liga (English: GDR League or ''East German League'') was, prior to German reunification in 1990, the second level of football competition in the DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik or German Democratic Republic, commonly East Germany), being roughly equivalent to the 2. Bundesliga in West Germany. Overview 1950-1955 The league was established with two divisions of ten teams each in 1950 as the level of play below the DDR-Oberliga, and as such was the second tier of the East German football league system. Fußball Club Erzgebirge Aue e.V., commonly known as simply FC Erzgebirge Aue or Erzgebirge Aue (), is a Football in Germany, German football club based in Aue-Bad Schlema, Saxony. FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt is a Football in Germany, German association football club based in Erfurt, Thuringia. Hallescher FC
Hallescher FC, formerly known as Hallescher FC Chemie, is a Football in Germany, German association football club based in Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, Halle an der Saale, Saxony-Anhalt. The club currently plays in the Regionalliga, the fourth highest level in the German football league system. For many years, Halle had been in East Germany's highest league, the DDR-Oberliga, up-until the German reunification. However, like many other teams from the former East, it then suffered the effects of economic and demographic decline in the region in the 1990s and fell down to amateur leagues.
