Georges Pintens (born 15 October 1946 in Antwerp) is a former professional road bicycle racer from Belgium who excelled at one-day classic races during the 1960s and 1970s. Pintens most successful year was in 1971 when he captured the Belgian classic, Gent–Wevelgem, and the General classification, overall title at the Tour de Suisse but finished second to Eddy Merckx at Liège–Bastogne–Liège. In 1974, Pintens returned to win Liège–Bastogne–Liège. Walter Planckaert (born 8 April 1948) is a Belgian former professional road racing cyclist. He is the younger brother of Willy Planckaert, the older brother of Eddy Planckaert, and the uncle of Jo Planckaert. He had 74 victories in his professional career. After retiring from riding, he commenced a long career in team management, working for the Panasonic (cycling team), Panasonic, Novemail–Histor, Palmans, Lotto–Adecco and Chocolade Jacques teams. Liège–Bastogne–Liège , also known as ''La Doyenne'' ("The Old Lady"), is a one-day classic cycling race in Belgium.Cycling Weekly, UK, 13 March 1993 First run in 1892, it is the oldest of the five ''Cycling monument, Monuments'' of the European professional Road bicycle racing, road cycling calendar; usually coming as the last of the spring classics. Liège ( ; ; ; ; ) is a City status in Belgium, city and Municipalities in Belgium, municipality of Wallonia, and the capital of the Liège Province, province of Liège, Belgium. Wladimiro Panizza (5 June 1945 – 21 June 2002) was an Italian professional road bicycle racer. Panizza came from a Communist family and was named after Lenin. During his long career (1967–1985), he helped Felice Gimondi and Franco Bitossi. His best grand tour was the 1980 Giro d'Italia, where he placed second in the overall classification. Raymond Delisle (11 March 1943 – 11 August 2013) was a French professional road bicycle racer. His sporting career began with ACBB Paris. Ferdinand Bracke (born 25 May 1939) is a Belgian former professional road and track cyclist who is most famous for holding the World Hour Record (48.093 km) and winning the overall title at the 1971 Vuelta a España in front of Wilfried David of Belgium and Luis Ocaña of Spain. He also became world pursuit champion on the track in 1964 and 1969. Biography Bracke was born in Hamme East Flanders, Belgium, on 24 May 1939. A rouleur and time trialist, he emerged as an amateur in 1962 by winning the tenth stage of the Peace Race. In May of the same year he won the Grand Prix des Nations, a time trial race. He turned pro on 26 September 1962, joining the Peugeot-BP-Dunlop team headed by Gaston Plaud.
