Group 5 consisted of three of the 32 teams entered into the European zone:Only 31 of the entered teams actually competed in the qualification tournament: West Germany national football team, West Germany qualified for 1974 FIFA World Cup, the World Cup automatically as host. England national football team, England, Poland national football team, Poland, and Wales national football team, Wales. Robert Gadocha (born 10 January 1946) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a left winger. Gadocha, who started his career in Garbarnia Kraków. later also played for FC Nantes, and briefly in the United States for Chicago Sting, his last professional team. His departure to France happened when he was 29. In Poland it was forbidden for a long time to departure abroad to play football. He was the first Polish player to get a legal permission to move abroad to play football. Allan John Clarke (born 31 July 1946), nicknamed "Sniffer", is an English former professional footballer who played in the Football League for Walsall, Fulham, Leicester City, Leeds United and Barnsley, and won 19 international caps for England. Career Early career Clarke was born in Short Heath, Willenhall, Staffordshire. He is the third of seven children. Clarke joined Walsall in 1961 as an apprentice, playing his debut for the Saddlers in October 1963, against Reading. Whilst at the club he scored 46 goals in 82 appearances. Jan Andrzej Domarski (born 28 October 1946) is a Polish former footballer and bronze-medal winner in the 1974 World Cup tournament in Germany. A midfielder, he played in seventeen matches for the Poland national team and was a double-champion with Stal Mielec. He is often noted for scoring a historic goal for the Poland national team on 17 October 1973 against England at Wembley Stadium in 57th minute during the final group qualifying match for the 1974 World Cup.
