	1970–71 Cypriot Third Division The 1970–71 Cypriot Third Division was the first season of the Cypriot third-level football league. Keravnos Strovolou FC won their 1st title. Format Twelve teams participated in the 1970–71 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first two teams were promoted to 1971–72 Cypriot Second Division. Point system Teams received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss. 	Cypriot Third Division The Cypriot Third Division (Greek language, Greek: Πρωτάθλημα Γ΄ Κατηγορίας) is the third tier Association football, football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league are promoted to the Cypriot Second Division, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to the STOK Elite Division. 	1970–71 Cypriot Cup The 1970–71 Cypriot Cup was the 29th edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 16 clubs entered the competition. It began on 1 May 1971 with the first round and concluded on 6 June 1971 with the replay final which was held at GSE Stadium. Anorthosis Famagusta won their 5th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Omonia 1–0 in the replay final. Format In the 1970–71 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division and 4 of 12 teams of the Cypriot Second Division (first four of the league table; cup took place after the end of the league). The competition consisted of four knock-out rounds. In all rounds each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of one of the two teams, according to the draw results. The team was part of the Keravnos B.C. sports club, which was founded in 1926; the parent club fields a men's basketball team. Founding The Men's football division was originally formed in 1926 when Aggelos Hadjiiosif, part of Keravnos B.C. sports club, approached an amateur football team called "Neolea"(). The team, formed by various school students from the Nicosia District, qualified for the finals of a league held in Lakatamia where amateur teams were participating.
