1969–70 KNVB Cup
The 1969-70 KNVB Cup was the 53rd edition of the Netherlands, Dutch national Association football, football annual knockout tournament for the KNVB Cup. It began on 19 October 1969 and ended with the final on 27 May 1970. Eventual champions Ajax lost to AZ '67 in the Third Round of the competition, however were placed into the Quarter Final as Lucky loser, lucky losers. This lucky loser rule had been in use for multiple years due to the KNVB Cup only allowing professional clubs was immediately abolished due to the backlash. Defending champions Feyenoord lost in the Second Round to GVAV-Rapiditas. PSV Eindhoven contested in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup 1970-71, Cup Winners' Cup, since Ajax were league champions of the 1969-70 Eredivisie, and would reach the semi finals. The Go Ahead Eagles are a Dutch professional football club from the city of Deventer in the province of Overijssel. RBC, previously known as RBC Roosendaal, is a football club based in Roosendaal, Netherlands. Amsterdamsche Football Club Door Wilskracht Sterk (), also referred to as AFC DWS, Door Wilskracht Sterk or simply DWS, is a Dutch football club from Amsterdam, currently competing in the Derde Klasse (), the sixth tier of amateur football in the Netherlands. History AFC DWS was founded on 11 October 1907, by the trio of Robert Beijerbacht, Theo Beijerbacht and Jan van Galen under the name of Fortuna which was soon changed to Hercules.
