The 1970 Challenge Cup was the 69th staging of rugby league's oldest knockout competition, the Challenge Cup. The final was contested by Castleford and Wigan at Wembley in front of a crowd of 95,255. Castleford Tigers
The Castleford Tigers are a professional rugby league club in Castleford, West Yorkshire, England. They play their home games at Wheldon Road (currently known as the Mend-A-Hose Jungle for sponsorship reasons) and compete in the Super League, the top flight of the British rugby league system. Castleford have won the Challenge Cup on four occasions, most recently in 1985–86 Challenge Cup#Final, 1986. Alan Hardisty (born 12 July 1941), also known by the nickname of "Chuck", is an English former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, and coached in the 1970s and 1980s.
