1965–66 Albanian Cup
1965–66 Albanian Cup ( sq, Kupa e Shqipërisë) was the sixteenth season of Albania's annual cup competition. It began in August 1965 with the First Round and ended in May 1966 with the Final matches. Vllaznia were the defending champions, having won their first Albanian Cup last season. The cup was won by Partizani. The rounds were played in a two-legged format similar to those of European competitions. If the aggregated score was tied after both games, the team with the higher number of away goals advanced. If the number of away goals was equal in both games, the match was decided by extra time and a penalty shootout, if necessary. FK Partizani Tirana
Futboll Klub Partizani, or FK Partizani for short, is an Albanian professional football club based in Tirana, that competes in the Kategoria Superiore. Founded in 1946, the club was historically affiliated to the Albanian army. Partizani's current temporary home ground is Arena Kombëtare and the newly built stadium at Partizani Complex. The club first competed in an official competition in 1947 where they won the Albania National Championship, thus being crowned the champions of Albania in their debut season as well as the following two seasons. In total the club have been national champions on 16 occasions between 1947 and 2019, which is the last time the club won the Kategoria Superiore. Klubi Futbollistik Teuta Durrës, commonly referred to as Teuta, is an Albanian professional football club based in Durrës. They currently compete in the Kategoria Superiore and they play their home games at the Niko Dovana Stadium. Tirana ( , ; aln, Tirona) is the capital and largest city of Albania. Qemal Stafa Stadium
The Qemal Stafa Stadium ( sq, Stadiumi Qemal Stafa), named after Qemal Stafa (1920–1942), a World War II hero, was a national stadium and the largest football stadium in Tirana, Albania. Construction started in 1939 and the stadium was inaugurated in 1946 for the Balkan Cup, which was won by the Albania national football team. The stadium has been used for football matches of the Albanian Superliga and the national team, athletic events, and the six Albanian Spartakiads. Although it was enlarged in 1974 to accommodate up to 35,000 spectators, in the 1990s it became an all-seater stadium, and its capacity was reduced to 19,700. Mexhit Haxhiu
Mexhit Haxhiu (born 3 January 1943) is an Albanian former footballer who played for Flamurtari Vlorë, Partizani Tirana and Besa Kavajë, as well as the Albania national team. He is currently the 19th top goalscorer in Albanian history with 87 league goals, 77 of which he scored for Flamurtari Vlorë and 10 for Partizani Tirana. Club career In his youth, Haxhiu played schoolboy football and also represented his hometown Vlorë in basketball and free-style swimming. He started with local side Flamurtari's youth team in 1959 and in 1963 he was summoned to Partizani to fulfil his military service. Shkodër ( , ; sq-definite, Shkodra) is the fifth-most-populous city of the Republic of Albania and the seat of Shkodër County and Shkodër Municipality. Loro Boriçi Stadium
The Loro Boriçi Stadium ( sq, Stadiumi "Loro Boriçi"), previously known as Vojo Kushi Stadium ( sq, Stadiumi Vojo Kushi) is a multi-purpose stadium in Shkodër, Albania, which is used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Vllaznia. The stadium has a capacity of around 16,000 seated. History On 17 May 1950, the construction of the stadium started and on 1 May 1952, the stadium was inaugurated and was named after Vojo Kushi, who was an Albanian partisan, hero of Albania. Robert Jashari
Robert Jashari (2 February 1938 – 22 January 2022), also known as Bert Jashari, was an Albanian football player, who played for Partizani Tirana and the Albania national team. He won the National Championship six times between 1957 and 1964 with Partizani Tirana and he was the top goalscorer in the National Championship in three consecutive seasons between 1962 and 1965, with 18, 9 and 14 goals respectively. KS Kastrioti, also known as Kastrioti Krujë, is an Albanian football club based in the city of Krujë. The club's home ground is the Kastrioti Stadium which has a capacity of 8,000 spectators and they currently compete in the Kategoria Superiore. Flamurtari FC is a professional football club based in Vlorë, Albania. The club plays in the Kategoria e Parë, which is the second tier of football in the country.
