The 1965 Cupa României Final was the 27th final of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. It was disputed between Știința Cluj and Dinamo Pitești and was won by Știința after a game with three goals. It was the first cup for Știința Cluj. 1964–65 Cupa României
The 1964–65 Cupa României was the 27th edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The title was won by Știința Cluj against Dinamo Pitești. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament. In the first round proper, 2 pots were made, first pot with Divizia A teams and other teams till 16 and the second pot with the rest of teams qualified in this phase. Each tie is played as a single leg. First round proper matches are played on the ground of the lowest ranked team, then from the second round proper the matches are played on a neutral location. In the first round proper, if a match is drawn after 90 minutes, the game goes in extra time, and if the scored is still tight after 120 minutes, the team who played away will qualify. Vasile Alexandru
Vasile Alexandru (18 July 1935 – 1987) was a Romanian football midfielder who played for Romania in the 1960 European Nations' Cup. Club career Alexandru was born on 18 July 1935 in București, Romania, and began playing junior-level football in 1949 at local club S.E.T. In 1952 he moved to Dinamo Bacău, then in 1955 he started his senior career at Divizia B club, Dinamo 6 București. Shortly afterwards, he joined Dinamo Bacău, where he made his Divizia A debut on 18 March 1956 under coach Florian Ambru in a 1–0 home loss to Dinamo București, with the team finishing last and being relegated at the end of the season. He then returned to Dinamo București, where he won his first trophy, the 1958–59 Cupa României, playing all minutes under coach Iuliu Baratky in the 4–0 win over CSM Baia Mare in the final. Nicolae Nagy
Nicolae Nagy (born 8 March 1942) is a Romanian former football forward. Club career Nicolae Nagy was born 8 March 1942 in Marosvásárhely, Hungary (today Târgu Mureș in Romania), starting to play junior level football in 1957 at local club, Avântul. In 1961 he started his senior career at Mureșul Târgu Mureș in Divizia B. In 1962 he went to play for Viitorul București where he made his Divizia A debut on 9 September in a 0–0 with Știința Cluj. After only one appearance for Viitorul he went back to the second league to play for Dinamo Obor București. Nicolae Dobrin
Nicolae Dobrin (; 26 August 1947 – 26 October 2007) was a Romanian footballer who played as an attacking midfielder and a manager. Nicknamed ''Gâscanul'' ("The Gander") or ''Prințul din Trivale'' ("The Prince of Trivale"), he is considered one of Romania's greatest footballers. Ion Țîrcovnicu (7 April 1936 – 10 March 2003) was a Romanian football Forward (association football), forward. Mircea Stoenescu (11 October 1943 – 5 January 2022) was a Romanian football centre-back, manager and referee. Club career Stoenescu, nicknamed "Basul" was born on 11 October 1943 in Bucharest, Romania. He started his career by playing at the junior squads of Dinamo București, winning a national title at children level in 1959 and one at junior level in 1961. Spiridon Niculescu (born 8 April 1943) is a Romanian former football Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper and Manager (association football), manager.
