Hong Kong First Division League
The Hong Kong First Division League () is the second-highest division in the Hong Kong football league system. Established in 1908, it is the List of oldest football competitions, third oldest in Asia, after Calcutta and Bombay. Moreover, it is the oldest top-flight league system in Asia. The league was formerly the highest division in Hong Kong until the formation of the Hong Kong Premier League in 2014. Since 1908, a total of 29 clubs have been crowned List of Hong Kong football champions, champions of the Hong Kong football system. Caroline Hill Football Club () was a Hong Kong football club which holds associate membership in the Hong Kong Football Association. The club formerly participated in the Hong Kong First Division but were relegated in 1982 and have not returned to the top flight since. Kwong Wah Athletic Association () are a football club that currently plays in the Hong Kong Second Division. The team's home matches are played throughout Hong Kong. History Kwong Wah were formed in 1936 by a group of coworkers at CLP Group. Among them, there were local and foreign players including future star Hau Yung Seng. The year after their formation, they won the 1937–38 Hong Kong Junior Shield as well as promotion into the Hong Kong Second Division. The club reached the Hong Kong First Division in 1947. History Early history In 1925, a group of workers from the China Building in Central formed the Chinese Football team. Two years later in 1927, the club changed its name to the Eastern Athletic Association, establishing itself as an all Chinese football club, and entered the Hong Kong Second Division.
