FK Partizan
Fudbalski klub Partizan ( sr-Cyrl, Фудбалски клуб Партизан, ; ), often referred to in English as Partizan Belgrade, is a Serbian professional Football club (association football), football club based in Belgrade. It forms a major part of the JSD Partizan multi-sport club. The club plays in the Serbian SuperLiga and has spent its entire history in the top tier of Yugoslav and Serbian football, winning a total of 46 official trophies, finishing in the Yugoslav First League, Yugoslav league all-time table as second. Its home ground is the Partizan Stadium, where the team have played since 1949. Velimir Sombolac
Velimir Sombolac (Serbian Cyrillic: Велимир Сомболац; 27 February 1939 – 22 May 2016) was a Serbian footballer and manager. He was part of the Yugoslav squad that won gold at the 1960 Summer Olympics. Playing career Club Following the steps of his elder brother Petar, he started playing in his hometown club FK BSK Banja Luka where he, with his team, surprisingly achieved the third place in the Yugoslav national youth championship. After this success, BSK coach Aco Mastala received a proposal to move to the city's main club FK Borac Banja Luka, which he accepted and brought along some of the players that helped him previously, between them, obviously, Velimir Sombolac. While in Borac, Velimir's good exhibitions didn't pass unnoticed, and, beside starting to represent the Yugoslav under-21 team, two seasons after he came there, received an invitation to move to one of the greatest Yugoslav clubs, the Belgrade's FK Partizan. Vladimir Petrović
Vladimir Petrović ( sr-Cyrl, Владимир Петровић, ; born 1 July 1955) is a Serbian football manager and former player. He is widely known domestically by his nickname Pižon (), after the French for ''pigeon''. Club career During his playing career, he mostly played for Red Star Belgrade and is one of the five Zvezdine zvezde (The Stars of Red Star) — the legends of the club. He started out at Red Star making his debut in 1971, at the age of 16. With the team, he won four Yugoslav League Championship titles, one Yugoslav Cup and reached the final of the 1979 UEFA Cup Final, losing to Borussia Mönchengladbach. In 1980, he was named the Yugoslav Footballer of the Year. Mane Bajić (Serbian Cyrillic: Мане Бајић; 7 December 1941 – 6 March 1994) was a Serbian footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Bajić experienced his football affirmation in Partizan, where he played from 1962 to 1970. During this period, he played a total of 451 games, 208 of which were championship games, and he scored 102 goals, of which 34 were championship goals. With Partizan, he won two Yugoslav championship titles in seasons 1962–63 and 1964–65. With the Partizan team, he achieved his greatest success, playing in the European Cup final in 1965–66 against Real Madrid. Ilija Mitić
Ilija Mitić (Serbian Cyrillic: Илија Митић; July 19, 1940 – September 2, 2023) was a professional soccer player. Born in Yugoslavia, he represented the United States internationally. Career Mitić played with Partizan with whom he won the Yugoslav First League title three times. Earning two under-21 caps, he later joined OFK Beograd. Mitić signed with the Oakland Clippers of the newly formed National Professional Soccer League in 1967, won the league title, and was named to the NPSL's ''Best XI'' team. In the off-season, the NPSL merged with the United Soccer Association to form the NASL. With the Clippers he was the NASL's third leading scorer in 1968 and again a ''Best XI'' selection. Mitić joined the Dallas Tornado as the Clippers folded and was named a ''Best XI'' for the third consecutive year in 1969.
