1957–58 Eredivisie
The Dutch Eredivisie in the 1957–58 season was contested by 18 teams. At the end of the competition, FC Utrecht, Door Oefening Sterk (DOS) and Sportclub Enschede, SC Enschede shared the lead with 47 points. According to the rules, an extra match was required. It was played at a neutral field (De Goffert, Nijmegen) and FC Utrecht, Door Oefening Sterk won the championship by winning 1-0 after extra time. Another play-off was held to determine which team had to relegate. USV Elinkwijk, Elinkwijk played FC Groningen, GVAV at neutral terrain and won 2–1. Therefore, GVAV relegated. Eredivisie
The Eredivisie (; "Honour Division" or "Premier Division") is a professional association football league in the Netherlands and the highest level of the Dutch football league system. The league was founded in 1956, two years after the start of professional football in the Netherlands. As of the 2024–25 season, it is UEFA coefficient#Men's association coefficient, ranked the sixth-best league in Europe by UEFA. The Eredivisie consists of 18 clubs. Fortuna Sittard
Fortuna Sittard (; ) is a professional football club from the municipality of Sittard-Geleen, Netherlands. The club currently plays its football in the 12,500 capacity Fortuna Sittard Stadion and features in the Eredivisie. The club was established through a merger of former clubs Fortuna 54 and Sittardia, which merged as the Fortuna Sittardia Combinatie on 1 July 1968. History The club experienced mixed fortunes throughout its history, although it was a regular fixture in the Eredivisie in the 1990s, with players such as Kevin Hofland, Mark van Bommel and Fernando Ricksen emerging from its youth system. Promotion and relegation is used by sports leagues as a process where teams can move up and down among divisions in a league system, based on their performance over a season. Amsterdamsche Football Club Door Wilskracht Sterk (), also referred to as AFC DWS, Door Wilskracht Sterk or simply DWS, is a Dutch football club from Amsterdam, currently competing in the Derde Klasse (), the sixth tier of amateur football in the Netherlands. History AFC DWS was founded on 11 October 1907, by the trio of Robert Beijerbacht, Theo Beijerbacht and Jan van Galen under the name of Fortuna which was soon changed to Hercules. The team played in a blue and white striped shirt and white shorts. On 22 March 1909 the name was changed to DWS and the shirt colours became blue and black vertical stripes. KNVB Cup
The KNVB Beker (; ), branded as the TOTO KNVB Beker for sponsorship reasons, is a competition in the Netherlands organised by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) since 1898. It was based on the format of the English FA Cup. Outside the Netherlands, it is often referred to as the Dutch Cup. TSV NOAD was an association football club based in Tilburg, Netherlands. Founded in 1910, the club played at the Eredivisie, highest level of Football in the Netherlands, Dutch football between 1918 and 1961. History NOAD was founded on 5 June 1910. Unlike most other clubs in North Brabant, the club was not formed as Catholic Church in the Netherlands, Roman Catholic but was rather secular.
