The season started on 27 September 1953 and concluded on 23 May 1954. El Qanah FC, El Qanah entered as the promoted team from the Egyptian Second Division. They replaced Port Fuad, who was relegated. The Egyptian Premier League (), also known as the Nile League () for sponsorship reasons, after the addition of title sponsor Nile Developments, is a professional association football league in Egypt and the highest level of the Egyptian football league system. The league comprises 18 teams and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Egyptian Second Division A. Seasons mostly run from August to May. Unlike most other leagues, games are played on all days of the week. The Egyptian Premier League was founded in 1948, unifying the local leagues that existed previously. List of Egyptian Premier League clubs, 70 clubs have competed in the league since its founding. Al Ahly SC, Al Ahly have won the title 45 times, more than any other club. Egyptian Second Division
The Egyptian Second Division () was an Egyptian semi-professional football league representing the second tier of the Egyptian football league system until 2023. It was administered by the Egyptian Football Association. It was below the top professional league in the country, the Egyptian Premier League, and above the regional league Egyptian Third Division. The league was reformed in 1977, and consisted of multiple groups covering different parts of Egypt, with the winner of each group either gaining automatic promotion to the Egyptian Premier League, or earning a place in the promotion play-offs, depending on the number of groups. Al Masry Sporting Club () is an Egyptian sports club based in Port Said, Egypt. The club is mainly known for its professional football team that competes in the Egyptian Premier League, the highest tier of the Egyptian football league system. Ismaily Sporting Club () is an Egyptian football club, established on 20 March 1921 as El Nahda Sporting Club () ( Egyptian pronunciation: Nady El Nahda), based in Ismaïlia, Egypt. The club is best known for its football team. Also it's considered as an Egyptian National Club, where they helped the famous local tour of duty play for the benefit of the homeland against the occupying armies. Port Fuad or Port Fouad ( ', ) is a city in Port Said Governorate, Egypt. Port Fuad is located in northeastern Egypt at the northwesternmost tip of the Sinai Peninsula on the Asian side of the Suez Canal, across from the city of Port Said. El-Qanah Football Club (), also known as Canal SC or Suez Canal, is an Egyptian football club based in Ismailia, Egypt. The club currently plays in the Egyptian Second Division, the second-highest league in the Egyptian football league system. History The club was founded in 1935 as a group of Ismailia born contractors formed a football team calling it "Badran Club".
