Istanbul Football League
The Istanbul Football League () was founded as a regional association football, football league under the name Constantinople Football Association League by James La Fontaine and Henry Pears in Istanbul, the capital of the former Ottoman Empire, in 1904. The Istanbul League was the first football organization ever in the Ottoman Empire and later Turkey. In the inaugural 1904–05 season the matches between the four teams, Moda F.C., Moda FC, HMS Imogene F.C., HMS Imogene, Elpis F.C., Elpis FC, and Cadi-Keuy F.C., Cadi-Keuy FC were played on Sundays, leading to the name of the league, Istanbul Sunday League. Henry Pears, an Englishman and one of the three founders, promised to ultimately award the shield to the club with the most championships won during the initial 10 years. Beşiktaş () is a List of districts in Turkey, district and List of municipalities in Turkey, municipality of Istanbul Province, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its area is 18 km2 and its population is 175,190 (2022). It is located on the European shore of the Bosphorus strait. Åževket Yorulmaz
Şevket Yorulmaz (1925 – 8 August 1997) was a Turkish footballer who played as a forward. Known for his career in Beşiktaş, he was the top goal scorer of Beşiktaş during the 1950s, especially in the Istanbul derbies. Early life and junior career Yorulmaz was born in Konya in 1925. He first started playing football as a student, playing in unbuilt in plots of land in the city of Konya. He continued playing during his military service in Antalya, first joining Jandarmagücü (a local team for servicemen in Antalya). His talents then led to him being transferred to Ankara to play in the military-affiliated Muhafızgücü. It was here that Yorulmaz was noticed by scouts from Beşiktaş. Career Yorulmaz joined Beşiktaş in 1947 and played as a centre-forward. He played with Beşiktaş until 1954 in a total of 173 games, garnering four Istanbul Football League championships and scoring a total of 99 goals. Vefa S
Vefa is part of the district of Fatih in Istanbul, and lies inside what was once the old walled city of Constantinople. It lies roughly northwest of the eastern section of the Aqueduct of Valens, and is rich in monuments, both Byzantine and Ottoman. It takes its name from the Muslim saint (wali) Shaykh Ebu’l Vefa who is buried locally in his own mosque and dergah. Vefa lies to the east of busy Atatürk Bulvari, the main road pushed through the old city by the French architect Henri Prost in the 1950s. Immediately to its north is the area of Küçükpazarı while to the east is the Süleymaniye district around the huge Süleymaniye Mosque complex. Buses link Vefa to Taksim, Eminönü, Fatih and Beyazıt. Beykoz () is a municipality and district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its area is 310 km2, and its population is 247,875 (2022). It lies at the northern end of the Bosphorus on the Anatolian side. The name is believed to be a combination of the words bey and ''kos'', which means "village" in Farsi.
