The 1948–49 Segunda División season was the 18th since its establishment and was played between 11 September 1948 and 17 April 1949. The Campeonato Nacional de Liga de Segunda División, commonly known as Segunda División or La Liga 2, and officially known as LaLiga HyperMotion for sponsorship reasons, is the men's second professional association football division of the Spanish football league system. Administered by , it is contested by 22 teams, with the top two teams plus the winner of a La Liga play-offs, play-off Promotion and relegation, promoted to La Liga and replaced by the three lowest-placed teams in that division.
