The 1948–49 Scottish Cup was the 64th staging of Scotland's most prestigious Association football, football knockout competition. The Cup Final was played at Hampden Park on 23 April 1949 between Rangers F.C., Rangers and Clyde F.C., Clyde. Dumbarton (; also sco, Dumbairton; ) is a town in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland, on the north bank of the River Clyde where the River Leven flows into the Clyde estuary. In 2006, it had an estimated population of 19,990. Dumbarton was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Strathclyde, and later the county town of Dunbartonshire. Airdrieonians Football Club is a Scottish professional football team in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, who are members of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) and play in Scottish League One.
