1942–43 Cupa României
The 1942–43 Cupa României was the tenth edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The title was won by CFR Turnu Severin against Sportul Studențesc București. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament with pairings for each round drawn at random. There are no seeds for the draw. The draw also determines which teams will play at home. Each tie is played as a single leg. If a match is drawn after 90 minutes, the game goes in extra time, and if the scored is still tight after 120 minutes, there a replay will be played, usually at the ground of the team who were away for the first game. The format is almost similar with the oldest recognised football tournament in the world FA Cup. CFR Turnu Severin
Club Sportiv CFR Turnu Severin 1943, commonly known as CFR Turnu Severin, is a football club based in Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Romania. It was founded in 1928 and it won one Romanian Cup in 1943. The club was dissolved in 1958, but was re-founded in 2018 and since 2022 has active teams enrolled in the Liga IV – Mehedinți County. History The railroad workers team from the Danube port of Porţile de Fier was founded in 1928, under president I. Tipărescu. The first antebellum appearance is recorded in 1939–40 (9th place in the Liga II). Clubul Sportiv Viitorul Minerul Lupeni, commonly referred to as Minerul Lupeni, is a Romanian Association football, football club based in Lupeni, Hunedoara County, which competes in Liga III , the third tier of the Romanian football league system. Established in 1920 as ''Jiul Lupeni'', the club changed its name several times to ''Partizanul (1950), Flacăra (1951), Minerul (1953 and 1957) and Energia (1956)''. Club Sportiv Municipal Lugoj, commonly known as CSM Lugoj, or simply as Lugoj, is a Romanian football club from Lugoj, Timiș County, Romania. The club was named in the past, ''Vulturii Textila'', after a textile company in the city of Lugoj. CSM Lugoj was founded under the name ''Vulturii Lugoj'' in 1920. Dacia Vasile Alecsandri Galaţi (also Dacia VA Galaţi or DVA Galaţi) was a Romanian football club based in Galaţi, founded in 1922 and dissolved in 1950. This club advanced to the Romanian Football Championships three times and was a quarter-finalist in the Romanian Cup. History DVA Galati was founded in 1922 when two clubs, Soimii Dacia and Liceul Vasile Alecsandri, named after a Roman province and a poet, respectively merged. The club made its first appearance in the regionals in 1927 and qualified for the final round of the Romanian championship. Clubul Sportiv Municipal Aurul Brad, commonly known as CSM Aurul Brad, or simply as Aurul Brad, is a Romanian amateur football club based in Brad, Hunedoara County, founded in 1934. The club is currently playing in the Liga IV. History Aurul Brad was founded in 1934, under the name of ''Mica Brad'', its first coach being Ion "Ale" Popescu.
