1937–38 Panhellenic Championship
The 1937–38 Panhellenic Championship was the ninth season of the highest football league of Greece. The champions of the 3 founding Associations of the HFF participated in the championship, which were the Αthenian, the Piraeus' and the Macedonian association. Olympiacos emerged again undefeated champion and won the championship for their sixth time (3 consecutive), winning in the crucial last game the then champion of Athens, Apollon Athens with 2-3 after a comeback from 2-1 at the half time, at Leoforos Alexandras Stadium. The point system was: ''Win: 2 points'' - ''Draw: 1 point'' - ''Loss: 0 points''. Panhellenic Championship
The Super League Greece 1 (), or Stoiximan Super League for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Greece and the highest level of the Greek football league system. The league was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced ''Alpha Ethniki'' at the top of the Greek league system. The members of the cooperative are the Football Limited Companies (P.A.E.) that have the right to participate in the Super League 1 championship. The president of Super League 1 is Vangelis Marinakis, who has been re-elected for the third time. It consists of 14 teams and runs from August to May, with teams playing 26 games each followed by 6-game Championship play-offs to decide the champions. As of April 2025, Super League Greece is ranked 12th in the UEFA ranking of leagues, based on performances in European competitions over the last five years. Giannis Vazos (; 1914 – 6 November 1991) was a Greek international football player who played as a forward. Early life He was born into a relatively wealthy family due to his father, Zacharias, being a trader and ran a Butcher shop. However, during pregnancy, his mother, Stella, contracted an illness that endangered the life of both her and young Giannis. During his birth, Giannis developed a Neurological disorder in his legs.
