1932–33 Serie B
The 1932–33 Serie B was the fourth tournament of this football competition played in Italy since its creation. Teams Grion Pola, Messina and Sampierdarenese had been promoted from Prima Divisione, while Brescia and Modena had been relegated from Serie A. Final classification Results Fascist foolishness The new secretary of the Fascist Party which was appointed in 1933, Achille Starace, was an enemy of the incumbent FIGC’s chairman Leandro Arpinati. He obtained the latter to be fired and arrested by Mussolini after false accusations of infidelity. His hate was so strong that he imposed to the new chairman Giorgio Vaccaro the disbandment of the Serie B round robin, the main creation of Arpinati's sport career. Serie B
The Serie B (), officially known as Serie BKT for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest division in the Italian football league system after the Serie A. It has been operating for over ninety years since the 1929–30 season. It had been organized by Lega Calcio until 2010 and the Lega B ever since. Common nicknames for the league are ''campionato cadetto'' and ''cadetteria'', since ''cadetto'' is the Italian name for junior or cadet. Leandro Arpinati
Leandro Arpinati (29 February 1892 – 22 April 1945) was an Italian politician. Biography Arpinati was born at Civitella di Romagna. Before World War I, he was originally an individualist-anarchist and, together with his friend Benito Mussolini, collaborated on the socialist newspaper ''La lotta di classe''. He was a fervid interventionist as early as August 1914. In those years he moved to Bologna, where he worked on the Italian railroad. In early 1920 he founded the second Fascio di combattimento in the city. On 21 November 1920 he was amongst the leaders of the squads which took part in the fighting between Fascists and Socialists in Piazza Nettuno and Piazza Maggiore in Bologna (the so-called ''strage of Palazzo d'Accursio''). The Italian Football Federation (, ; FIGC ), known colloquially as (), is the governing body of football in Italy. It is based in Rome and the technical department is in Coverciano, Florence. It manages and coordinates the Italian football league system. It is also responsible for appointing the management of the Italy national football team (men's), women's, and youth national football teams. The Italy national futsal team also belongs to the federation. Achille Starace
Achille Starace (; 18 August 1889 – 29 April 1945) was a prominent leader of Fascist Italy before and during World War II. Early life and career Starace was born in Sannicola, province of Lecce, in southern Apulia. His father was a wine and oil merchant. Starace attended the Lecce Technical Institute and earned a degree in accounting. In 1909 he joined the Italian Royal Army (''Regio Esercito'') and by 1912 had become a second lieutenant (''sottotenente'') of the '' Bersaglieri''. A dedicated bellicist, he entered singlehanded in a brawl with pacifist demonstrators at the Biffi Cafe in Milan in August 1914 and gained quite a reputation by this action. Seeing action during World War I, Starace was highly decorated for his service, winning one Silver Medal of Military Valor plus four bronze. The National Fascist Party (, PNF) was a political party in Italy, created by Benito Mussolini as the political expression of Italian fascism and as a reorganisation of the previous Italian Fasces of Combat. The party ruled the Kingdom of Italy from 1922 when Fascists took power with the March on Rome until the fall of the Fascist regime in 1943, when Mussolini was deposed by the Grand Council of Fascism. Spezia Calcio is an Italian professional Association football, football club based in La Spezia, Liguria, currently competing in the Serie B. Spezia Calcio was founded in 1906 by the Swiss banker Hermann Hurni (or Hurny in some documents), who played for the early Crystal Palace amateur teams in London during his time there as a student. 1933–34 Prima Divisione
The 1933–34 Prima Divisione was the third level league of the 34th Italian football championship. In 1928, FIGC had decided a reform of the league structure of Italian football. The top-level league was the National Division, composed by the two divisions of Serie A and Serie B. Under them, there were the local championship, the major one being the First Division, that in 1935 will take the name of Serie C. Starting from this season, the winners and the runners-up of the eight groups of First Division would be admitted to the final rounds, where four tickets of promotion to Serie B were available, whereas the scheduled relegations were annulled by the Federation which expanded the division.
