Swedish Football Champions
Swedish football champions () is a title held by the winners of the highest Sweden, Swedish Association football, football league played each year, Allsvenskan. Malmö FF are the holders of the record of most titles with 24 Swedish championships, the most recent of which was won in 2024 Allsvenskan, 2024. The title has been contested since 1896 in various competition formats. The first Swedish Champions, Örgryte IS, were declared in 1896 when the club won the cup tournament Svenska Mästerskapet. This happened before there existed any Swedish national association, which was created in 1904. The winners of Svenska Mästerskapet between 1896 and 1904 have retroactively been declared holders of the title by the Swedish Football Association (SvFF). After the creation of the SvFF, the title continued to be held by the winners of Svenska Mästerskapet until 1925, even though a Swedish first national league, Svenska Serien, started in 1910. Djurgårdens IF Fotboll
Djurgårdens IF Fotbollsförening – commonly known as Djurgårdens IF, Djurgården Fotboll (official name), Djurgården (), and (especially locally) Djurgår'n (), Dif or DIF – is a Swedish professional men's association football department of its parent association Djurgårdens IF. Founded 1891 on the island of Djurgården, the club's home ground is 3Arena_(Stockholm), 3Arena, situated in the Johanneshov district of Stockholm. Competing in the highest Swedish tier, Allsvenskan, the club has won the List of Swedish football champions, national title twelve times and the Svenska Cupen five times. Surte IS
Surte () is a locality situated in Ale Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 5,798 inhabitants in 2010. Surte Church is located in the town. It is located some 15 kilometers north of Gothenburg. Surte became well known for its glass works that started production in 1862 and became one of the major mechanized glass works in Sweden. It was bought by in 1960 and shut down in 1978. In Surte, there was a large landslide in 1950, which killed one person and destroyed 30 houses. More houses had to be removed, causing 450 people to lose their homes. It also blocked the river which had frequent ship traffic. Surte was the hometown of Alexander Samuelson. Although he was not the designer, he was the man named on the 1915 design patent for the legendary contour Coca-Cola bottle. Jonsereds IF
Jonsereds IF is a Swedish football club located in Jonsered, about east of Gothenburg (Göteborg). The club was founded on 2 May 1923 following the merger of Jonsereds GoIF and Bokedalens IF. Jonsereds IF currently plays in Division 3 Norra Götaland which is the fourth tier of Swedish football. They play their home matches at the Jonsereds IP. Background Since their foundation in 1921 Jonsereds IF has participated mainly in the middle divisions of the Swedish football league system. In season of 1923–24, Jonserads were moved to Division 2, Västsvenska Serien. In their first year in the new division, Jonserads finished second behind IFK Uddevalla. IFK Uddevalla is a Swedish Association football, football club located in Uddevalla and played two seasons in the highest Swedish league, Allsvenskan, in 1925-26 in Swedish football, 1925–26 and 1926-27 in Swedish football, 1926–27. Karlskoga IF
BIK Karlskoga is a Swedish ice hockey club based in Karlskoga, Sweden. They are currently playing in the second highest league in Sweden, the HockeyAllsvenskan. In 1963, the club IFK Bofors was merged with Karlskoga IF and formed KB 63 (formally IF Karlskoga/Bofors). Between 1978 and 2011 the club was known as Bofors IK, which was then changed to its current name. Karlskoga has been a stable fixture in Sweden's second tier leagues, playing in HockeyAllsvenskan and its predecessors since 1997. Billingsfors IK
Billingsfors IK is a Swedish football club located in Billingsfors, close to Bengtsfors, Västra Götaland County. Background Billingsfors Idrottsklubb was founded on 26 May 1906 and played one season in the Allsvenskan, the highest Swedish league, in 1946–47. BIK were relegated at the end of the season, finishing bottom of the table with just three draws. While the club is positioned last in the all-time Allsvenskan table it is a great achievement for BIK to have played at this level. In their early years Billingsfors IK participated mainly in the upper divisions of the Swedish football league system but then their fortunes plummeted and in recent decades they have been entrenched in the lower divisions. Motala AIF is a Swedish football club located in Motala in Östergötland. Other sports that the club promotes include athletics, orienteering, ice hockey, road cycling, and skiing. Background Since their foundation on 29 August 1907 Motala AIF has participated mainly in the upper and middle divisions of the Swedish football league system. The highlight was in 1957/1958 when the club played one season in the Allsvenskan. During this season MAIF's attendance record was broken when 13,058 spectators watched the match with Örgryte IS.
