The 1927 Argentine Primera División was the 36th season of top-flight football in Argentina. Thirty-four teams were eligible to play the tournament (8 from official AFA and 26 from dissident AAm). It was also established that the 14 founder members of AAm would not be relegated in case of finishing in the last position. Club Atlético Independiente () is an Argentine professional sports club, which has its headquarters and stadium in the city of Avellaneda in Greater Buenos Aires. Club Sportivo Buenos Aires is a defunct Argentine football club from the city of Buenos Aires that played in Primera División during the 1920s. History The club was founded on 1 February 1918, when clubs Buenos Aires Isla Maciel and Sportivo Argentino merged. The Sportivo Argentino had been founded in 1915 by former players of Boca Juniors' youth and senior players separated from the club due to problems with its managers. The first name chosen for the club was "Petrolero" ("Oiler" in Spanish) but it was rejected by the Argentine Football Association so they changed to "Sportivo Argentino". Club Atlético Barracas Central is an Argentine football club from the district of Barracas, Buenos Aires. Established in 1904, Barracas Central will return to the Primera División, the top level of the Argentine football league system, in the 2022 season after the team won the Torneo Reducido. Club San Fernando is an Argentine multi- sports club based in San Fernando, Buenos Aires.
