Swedish Football Champions
Swedish football champions () is a title held by the winners of the highest Sweden, Swedish Association football, football league played each year, Allsvenskan. Malmö FF are the holders of the record of most titles with 24 Swedish championships, the most recent of which was won in 2024 Allsvenskan, 2024. The title has been contested since 1896 in various competition formats. The first Swedish Champions, Örgryte IS, were declared in 1896 when the club won the cup tournament Svenska Mästerskapet. This happened before there existed any Swedish national association, which was created in 1904. The winners of Svenska Mästerskapet between 1896 and 1904 have retroactively been declared holders of the title by the Swedish Football Association (SvFF). After the creation of the SvFF, the title continued to be held by the winners of Svenska Mästerskapet until 1925, even though a Swedish first national league, Svenska Serien, started in 1910. Westermalms IF FK is a football club located in Stockholm, Sweden, that competed in the Allsvenskan for two seasons in the late 1920s. The club currently play eight tiers lower in Division 7 Stockholm D. The original colours of the team were black and white striped shirts and blue shorts. History Westermalms IF was founded on the Friday 1 August 1902 when 17 young people met at a café at Fleminggatan 62, Kungsholmen. The original name of the club was ''Idrottsklubben Friggs''. Background The club was formed at a meeting in the Varbergs Folkets Hus on 25 March 1925. Redbergslids IK Fotboll
Redbergslids IK was a football club located in Gothenburg that played in the 1930–31 Allsvenskan, the Swedish top-tier league. History The football team was a part of the sports club Redbergslids IK founded in 1916. In the 1929–30 season, they reached Allsvenskan by winning Division 2 Södra 11 points ahead of Malmö FF. The following season, 1930–31, they played in the Allsvenskan but were relegated. In the top division of Sweden the club attracted an average crowd of 8,898. They were also punished for paying their players, which was against the rules at that time, when they gifted their players watches, by being demoted to the bottom of the Swedish football league system, Göteborgsserien IV.
