1921–22 Prima Divisione (C
The 1921-22 Prima Divisione was the equal twenty-first edition of the Italian Football Championship. In a highly political season of Italian football, to rival the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio (FIGC) organised 1921-22 Prima Categoria, Italy's richest clubs created the Prima Divisione. The rivalry lasted only this one season. Afterwards, the FIGC recognised the Prima Divisione format as the official championship. Hence, 1921-22 was the last season in which the Prima Categoria winners were awarded Italian Football Champions. The winners of each of the 1921-22 Prima Categoria and Prima Divisione are both officially recognised as Italian Champions that season. Prima Divisione
Prima Divisione (''First Division'') was the name of the first level of the Italian Football Championship from 1921 to 1926. The competition was initially founded in opposition to the FIGC by the richest clubs of Northern Italy, which disagreed the old format of the championship, based on regional groups. In 1921–22, two concurrent championships took place, before FIGC accepted the new format for 1922–23. US Milanese
Founded on 16 January 1902 by Ambrogio Ferrario, Romolo Buni and Gilbert Marley at the Caffè Verdi in Porta Nuova in Milan, the ''Unione Sportiva Milanese'' was born as a multi-sports club for compete in different disciplines. In the spring of 1904 the football section was established on the initiative of some footballers and gymnasts who left first ''A.C.Milan'' and then ''Mediolanum'' (among of which Umberto Meazza), while the affiliation to the Italian Football Federation (FIF), the current FIGC, took place in 1905. The shirt was black and white checked, with white shorts and black socks. Red and white were the colors of the second jersey. By virtue of this choice, against the current compared to the norm of the others teams, were nicknamed "Gli Scacchi" (the chessmen). Seconda Divisione 1922–23 was the lower championship of the Lega Nord. Differently from the higher championship, it was structured on six local groups. Teams All clubs of former Prima Categoria which did not get a place for the new Prima Divisione, together with the regional champions of former Promozione and CCI local tournaments. Legnano
Legnano (; or ''Lignàn'') is a town and ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Milan, province of Milan, about from central Milan. With 60,259, it is the thirteenth-most populous township in Lombardy. Legnano is located in the Alto Milanese and is crossed by the Olona River.
