1902–03 Catalan Football Championship
The 1902–03 Catalan Football Championship was the 3rd staging of the Catalan football championship, Championship of Catalonia. This season was peculiar because it comprised two different competitions held the same year. Due to disagreements between the reigning champion of the tournament, FC Barcelona, and some of the clubs invited, in 1902–03 two parallel competitions were held: an "official", the Copa Macaya organized by Hispania Athletic Club, Hispania AC and an "unofficial", the #Copa Barcelona, Copa Barcelona organized by FC Barcelona. Both are currently recognized as official by the Royal Spanish Football Federation, RFEF. Bernardo Lassaletta
Bernado Lassaletta Perrín (20 August 1882 - 12 March 1948) was a Spanish industrial engineer, professor and footballer who played as a forward for FC Barcelona between 1901 and 1903. Biography He was an industrial engineer, professor of general metallurgy and electrical technology at the School of Industrial Engineers in Barcelona and professor of mathematics at the School of Directors of Electrical Industries. In 1910 he become the head of the testing laboratory of the company Siemens Schuckert Indústria Elèctrica SA in Catalonia. In 1921, Lassaletta joined the Barcelona as a full academician, and there he presented numerous papers and works. As a young man, he played football with FC Barcelona between 1902 and 1904. Together with the likes of Joan Gamper, Luis de Ossó, Udo Steinberg, and Carles Comamala, he helped Barça win the Copa Barcelona, netting a total of 5 goals in the tournament that was later recognized as the fourth edition of the Catalan Championship. ... 1910 Copa Del Rey
The Copa del Rey 1910 comprised two different competitions held the same year. Due to disagreements between the reigning champion of the tournament, Club Ciclista de San Sebastián, and some of the clubs invited, in 1910 two parallel competitions were held: an "official", organized by the newly created FECF (Federación Española de Clubs de Football), forerunner of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (), in Madrid and an "unofficial", organized by the UECF (Unión Española de Clubs de Football), in San Sebastián. The X Sporting Club, officially founded as Football Club X, was a football team based in Barcelona, Spain, which existed during the years 1902 and 1908. 1902 Copa De La Coronación
The 1902 Copa de la Coronación (''Coronation Cup'' in English) was a football competition in honour of the coronation of Alfonso XIII of Spain. The Royal Spanish Football Federation does not recognize it as the first season of the Copa del Rey, which began the following year. The competition was thought up after Carlos Padrós, later president of Madrid FC, suggested a football competition to celebrate the coronation of Alfonso XIII. Four other teams joined Madrid for the first competition: FC Barcelona, Club Español de Foot-Ball, Bizcaya (a combination of Athletic Club and Bilbao Football Club) and New Foot-Ball Club. George Girvan
George Girvan (13 June 1878 – 3 July 1968), was a Scottish footballer who played as a forward for Spanish club FC Barcelona. He is best known for scoring the very first competitive goal in Barcelona's history at the 1900–01 Copa Macaya. Escocès FC George Girvan was born in Motherwell on 13 June 1878. He was one of many young Scottish workers at lace manufacturers Johnston, Shields & Co in Newmilns sent over to work in the company's newly opened factory at Sant Martí de Provençals, known in Catalonia as ''La Escocesa'', which started production back in 1893.
