1894–95 Aston Villa F.C. Season
The 1894–95 Football League season fell in what was to be called Villa's golden era. Under George Ramsay's management committee Villa won the FA Cup for the second time. The 1894–95 Division 1 season was the first season of the First league Second City Derby with Aston Villa beating local rivals Small Heath 2–1 on 1 September 1894. Jack Devey
John Henry George Devey (26 December 1866 – 11 October 1940) was an English football player and a first-class cricketer. He is considered one of Aston Villa's greatest captains. Football career Devey was born in Birmingham and signed for Aston Villa in March 1891; A skilful inside right/centre-forward and an England international with two caps, he was exceptionally clever with head and feet in front of goal and a prolific goalscorer. He was Villa's top goal scorer in 6 of his 12 seasons with the club. For eight years, Devey captained Aston Villa during which time they won the League championship five times between 1894 and 1900 and the FA Cup twice. Football League First Division
The Football League First Division was the top division of the Football League in England from 1888 until the end of the 1991–92 season, when its teams broke away to form the Premier League. From 1992 to 2004, the name First Division was given to what had previously been called the Second Division. After the 2003–04 season, the division was renamed the Football League Championship (now EFL Championship, with the division below it called EFL League One). The First Division contained between 12 and 24 clubs, playing each other home and away in a double round robin. Louis Saha
Louis Laurent Saha (born 8 August 1978) is a French former professional footballer who played as a striker. Saha was capped 20 times for the France national team and scored four goals. Louis Saha was a former scholar at the Clairefontaine football academy, he began his career at Metz before playing on loan at Newcastle United. Before the start of the 2000–01 season, Saha moved to Fulham where he established himself as first-choice striker, helping them to gain promotion to the Premier League in his first season with them. His performances gained attraction from Manchester United, who eventually secured his signing for around £12.4 million midway through the 2003–04 season. The FA Cup Final is the last match in the FA Cup, Football Association Challenge Cup. Bob Chatt
Robert Samuel Chatt (August 1870 – c. 1955) was an English footballer who was a member of the Aston Villa team which won the Football League championship three times in the 1890s. Chatt was credited with scoring the fastest goal in FA Cup final history, scored after just 30 seconds in the 1895 FA Cup final. This record stood for 114 years until Louis Saha of Everton scored after 25 seconds against Chelsea in the 2009 final. His brother, Fred, played for Burton Wanderers. Chatt later won the FA Amateur Cup with Stockton and is the only player to have winner's medals for both the FA Cup and the FA Amateur Cup. Birmingham Charity Cup
The Lord Mayor of Birmingham's Charity Cup, commonly referred to as the Birmingham Charity Cup, was a football competition for teams from Birmingham and the surrounding area. History It was inaugurated in 1882 by Joseph Cofield, a player with St George's and the secretary of the Birmingham and District Football Association, who had been voted a benefice of £30 by the association; Cofield promptly pledged it as the starting fund for a new trophy, to be played for charity. The trophy was duly presented by the city's mayor, Richard Chamberlain, to Aston Villa as the first winner of the competition in the 1881–82 season, defeating Walsall Swifts 4–1.
