10th Field Regiment, RCA
The 10th Field Artillery Regiment, RCA is an artillery regiment of the Canadian Army Primary Reserve. Based in Regina, Saskatchewan, the regiment forms part of the 38 Canadian Brigade Group of the 3rd Canadian Division. History Part of the regiment's history can be traced to the Assiniboia Regiment, established in July 1905, later becoming the 95th Saskatchewan Regiment. The Assiniboia Regiment was garrisoned at Moosomin, Saskatchewan. The Great War On 6 August 1914, details from the 29th Light Horse, the 60th Rifles of Canada and the 95th Saskatchewan Regiment were placed on active service for local protection duties. Yorkton, Saskatchewan
Yorkton is a city located in south-eastern Saskatchewan, Canada. It is about north-west of Winnipeg and south-east of Saskatoon and is the sixth largest city in the province. 217th (Qu'Appelle) Battalion, CEF
The 217th Battalion, CEF was a unit in the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. Based in Moosomin, Saskatchewan, the unit began recruiting in early 1916 throughout the district. After sailing to England in June 1917, the battalion was absorbed into the 19th Reserve Battalion on June 9, 1917. The 217th Battalion, CEF had one Officer Commanding: Lieut-Col. A. B. Gillis. The Saskatchewan Dragoons
The Saskatchewan Dragoons is a Primary Reserve armoured regiment of the Canadian Army. The unit is based in Moose Jaw. Their primary job is to assist the Regular Force in meeting Canada's military commitments. Their training and equipment closely follow that of the Regular Force, which the Reserves are called upon to assist increasingly often. The Saskatchewan Dragoons are part of 3rd Canadian Division's 38 Canadian Brigade Group. The Royal Regina Rifles is a Primary Reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Army. Prior to 1982 the regiment was known as The Regina Rifle Regiment. The Royal Regina Rifles are part of 3rd Canadian Division's 38 Canadian Brigade Group. The Saskatchewan Border Regiment was an infantry regiment of the Non-Permanent Active Militia of the Canadian Militia (now the Canadian Army). The South Saskatchewan Regiment (1920-1924)
The South Saskatchewan Regiment was an infantry regiment of the Canadian Forces formed in 1936 by the amalgamation of The Weyburn Regiment and The Saskatchewan Border Regiment. It was reduced to nil strength and placed on the Supplementary Order of Battle (i.e., virtually disbanded) in 1968. They participated in the 1942 Dieppe Raid. History The regiment traces its lineage to July 3, 1905, when an infantry regiment was authorized in the District of Assiniboia and the District of Saskatchewan, which later that year became the province of Saskatchewan.
