107th Territorial Defense Brigade
The 107th Territorial Defense Brigade () is a military formation of the Territorial Defense Forces (Ukraine), Territorial Defense Forces of Ukraine in Chernivtsi Oblast. It is part of Operational Command West. History Formation On 1 March 2018, Chernivtsi Oblast's chief enlistment officer, Volodymyr Shvediuk, announced that the brigade would be formed. He said 6 battalions would be created in the main raions, including 1 battalion in Chernivtsi. On 13 April 2022, Chernihiv Oblast officials announced that soldiers from the brigade had captured a Russian tank. Slobozhanshchyna Counteroffensive
On September 6, 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched a major counteroffensive against the Russian military during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. As Ukraine announced the start of the Kherson counteroffensive in southern Ukraine in late August, Ukrainian forces also began a second counteroffensive in early September in Kharkiv Oblast, in eastern Ukraine. As the Ukrainian military broke through Russian defensive lines, it recaptured major cities in the matter of days. On September 7, the second day of the counteroffensive, the Ukrainian military advanced over into Russian-held territory.
