07th Expansion is a Japanese dōjin circle specialized in the creation of visual novels. They started out drawing for the trading card game ''Leaf Fight'', but are better known for creating the game series ''When They Cry (other), When They Cry''. The remake games on additional consoles for ''Higurashi When They Cry'' were produced by Alchemist (company), Alchemist. History Started off producing original cards for the Collectible card game, trading card game called ''Leaf Fight'' as a way to present their work. They would sell their works at various events including Comiket where they met BT who later became the manager of their homepage. After two years of selling cards they began thinking about switching to another genre. is the pen name of a Japanese writer who is the leading member of the group 07th Expansion. He is the creator of the ''When They Cry'' visual novel series, which includes ''Higurashi When They Cry'', ''Umineko When They Cry'', and ''Ciconia When They Cry''. His pen name is originated from ''Final Fantasy'', "Ryūkishi" being the term for "Dragoon" and "07" a play on words for "Lenna". is a fictional character in the Higurashi When They Cry, ''Higurashi When They Cry'' series. Born as , she adopts the name "Rena" upon moving back to her hometown of Hinamizawa following a mental breakdown. Whilst on the surface, she adopts a naive, cheerful, and innocent persona, Rena is perceptive, strong-willed, and reacts strongly to being lied to.
