Živorad Milosavljević
Živorad Milosavljević ( sr-Cyrl, Живорад Милосављевић; born 17 February 1956) is a politician in Serbia. He has served as the president (i.e., mayor) of Sopot, a municipality in the city of Belgrade, since 1989, making him the longest continually serving mayor in Serbia. Milosavljević was also a member of the National Assembly of Serbia from 1999 to 2001 and has served in the City Assembly of Belgrade. Formerly a member of the Socialist Party of Serbia and for many years the leader of his own independent political movement, Milosavljević is now a member of the Serbian Progressive Party. Early life and private career Milosavljević was born in Rogača, Sopot, in what was then the People's Republic of Serbia in the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia. He graduated from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law in 1979 and worked at ''TP "Ropočevo" Sopot'' from 1980 to 1982. Yugoslav Left
The Yugoslav Left, also known as the Yugoslav United Left (JUL), was a political party in Serbia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. At its peak, the party had 20 seats in Republic of Serbia's National Assembly following the 1997 general election. History The party was formed in 1994 by merging 19 left-wing parties, led by the League of Communists – Movement for Yugoslavia (SK-PJ). It was led by Mirjana Marković, originally holding the title of President of the Directorate. Unlike the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and its ally the Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro (DPS) which were direct descendants of the League of Communists of Serbia and Montenegro respectively, the Yugoslav Left was an all-Yugoslav party with members from both constituent bodies.
