Željko Šakić
Željko Šakić (born April 14, 1988) is a Croatian professional basketball player currently playing for Élan Chalon of the LNB Élite, French League. Standing at , he plays the Power forward (basketball), power forward position. Professional career Šakić started playing basketball in the KK Cibona, Cibona youth systems but never got an opportunity to play for the senior squad. After he almost quit basketball, in 2007 he got an offer from another club from Zagreb, KK Dubrava, Dubrava where he spent the next 3 seasons. After that he spent 3 seasons in the Basketball Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnian League and then moved to Sutor Basket Montegranaro, Sutor Montegranaro of the Lega Basket Serie A, Italian League. He spent the 2014–15 ACB season, 2014–15 season in Bàsquet Manresa, Manresa of the ACB league, Spanish League earning the 4th week Player of the Week award. BC UNICS () is a professional basketball club in Kazan, Russia, that plays in the VTB United League, and formerly played in the EuroLeague. On February 28, 2022, EuroLeague Basketball suspended the team because of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Their home arena is Basket-Hall Kazan. History 1991-1999 UNICS was established in 1991. VTB United League
The VTB United League () is an international professional men's club basketball league that was founded in 2009. It is made up of mostly Russian clubs, along with one each from Belarus and Kazakhstan. Since 2013, it is the first tier of Russian professional club basketball. Therefore, the highest placed Russian team in the league can also be named the Russian national champions. The league is sponsored by Russian state-owned VTB Bank. Lietuvos krepšinio lyga (LKL; ), also known as Betsafe LKL for sponsorship reasons, is the premier men's professional club basketball league in Lithuania. It is composed of 10 teams, and it is a member of the Lithuanian Basketball Federation. ACB League
The Liga ACB, known as Liga Endesa for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system. Administered by the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB), Liga ACB is contested by 18 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams relegated to the Primera FEB and replaced by the top team in that division plus the winner of the promotion playoffs. The 2014–15 ACB season was the 32nd season of the Spanish basketball league, also called Liga Endesa in its sponsored identity.
