Štvanice
Štvanice is an island on the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. It is located in the Prague district of Holešovice. At the end of the 17th century, a wooden arena was built there. Until 1816, the island was used for dog hunts involving various animals such as bears, bulls, deer, and cows, although these were repeatedly banned. This is the origin of the island's name, which translates to ''hunt'' or ''chase''. In 1931, Štvanice Stadium was built on the island and originally consisted entirely of wood. This later became the ice skating centre of Prague, until its demolition in 2011. Ice Hockey World Championships were held at the stadium four times: in 1933, 1938, 1947, and 1959. Štvanice Stadium
Štvanice stadium was a sports stadium situated on Štvanice, Štvanice Island, Czech Republic, and was ranked among the oldest stadiums in Prague. The stadium was in its heyday in the first half of the 20th century, but has been in decline since 1961. It was here, where in 1947 the Czechoslovakia men's national ice hockey team, Czechoslovak national team won the Ice Hockey World Championships, Ice Hockey World Championship for the first time. Early days Czech national ice hockey teams at first had to win five European titles, before players finally saw their first stadium with artificial ice rink. The Negrelli Viaduct (''Czech'': ''Negrelliho viadukt'' by Alois Negrelli, also known as the Karlín Viaduct,), Czech Republic, is a railway bridge over Štvanice Island that connects Masaryk Railway Station in central Prague with a railway station in Bubny. Czechoslovakia Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The Czechoslovakia men's national ice hockey team was the national ice hockey team of Czechoslovakia, and competed from 1920 until 1992. The successor to the Bohemia national ice hockey team, which was a European power prior to World War I, the Czechoslovak national team first appeared at the 1920 Summer Olympics, two years after the creation of the state. In the 1940s, they established themselves as the best team in Europe, becoming the first team from the continent to win two World Championships (1947 and 1949). Holešovice
Holešovice () is a district in the north of Prague situated on a meander of the River Vltava, which makes up the main part of the district Prague 7 (an insignificant part belongs to Prague 1).
