Štefan Ružička
Štefan Ružička (born February 17, 1985) is a Slovak former professional ice hockey forward who last played under contract with HC Sparta Praha of the Czech Extraliga (ELH). He formerly played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Philadelphia Flyers and in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) where he is the All-time leading scorer for HC Spartak Moscow. Hokejový Klub Nitra is a professional ice hockey club based in Nitra, Slovakia. Kontinental Hockey League
The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL; ) is an international professional ice hockey league founded in 2008. It comprises member clubs based in Russia (20), Belarus (1), Kazakhstan (1), and China (1) for a total of 23 clubs. It was considered in 2015 to be the strongest professional ice hockey league in Europe and Asia, and the second-strongest in the world behind North America's National Hockey League. Penalty (ice Hockey)
A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. Penalties are called and enforced by the Official (ice hockey)#Referees, referee, or in some cases, the Official (ice hockey)#Linesmen, linesman. The offending team may not replace the player on the ice (although there are some exceptions, such as fighting), leaving them short handed, short-handed as opposed to full strength. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The assists will be awarded in the order of play, with the last player to pass the puck to the goal scorer getting the primary assist and the player who passed it to the primary assister getting the secondary assist. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. Mike Stothers
Michael Patrick Stothers (born February 22, 1962) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who is an assistant coach for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League. He played for the Philadelphia Flyers and Toronto Maple Leafs, and was previously the head coach of the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL, the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL, the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League, and the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League. Playing career As a youth, Stothers played in the 1975 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Toronto Shopsy's minor ice hockey team. Ontario Hockey League
The Ontario Hockey League (OHL; ) is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues which constitute the Canadian Hockey League, alongside the Western Hockey League and the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League.
