Štadión Lokomotívy v Čermeli is a multi-purpose stadium in Košice, Slovakia. It is currently used mostly for football matches. From 1997 it was the home stadium for Lokomotiva's rival, FC VSS Košice, until its dissolvation 20 years later. It was then used by the newly founded FC Košice and from the summer of 2022, FC Lokomotíva Košice returned to the stadium after 25 years. The stadium holds 9000 people and was built in 1970. History The stadium is in the Čermeľ district, a multi-use stadium in Košice, Slovakia. It is currently used mostly for football matches as the home ground of VSS Košice since 1997. The stadium holds 10,787 (8,787 seated) spectators and was built in 1970. Initially, the stadium was used by Lokomotíva Košice and 1.FC Košice (later VSS) have played there since 1997 until last year. Nightwish
Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band from Kitee. The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and former lead singer Tarja Turunen. The band soon picked up drummer Jukka Nevalainen, and then bassist Sami Vänskä after the release of their debut album, ''Angels Fall First'' (1997). In 2001, Vänskä was replaced by Marko Hietala, who also took over the male vocalist role previously filled by Holopainen or guest singers. Alan Gordon Snoddy (born 29 March 1955) is a retired Northern Ireland, Northern Irish football (soccer), football referee, known for having refereed two matches in the FIFA World Cup: one in 1986 FIFA World Cup, 1986 and one in 1990 FIFA World Cup, 1990. At the 1986 World Cup Snoddy was appointed to Referee (association football), referee the game between Morocco and Portugal in Guadalajara which ended 3–1 to Morocco. In the 1990 World Cup Snoddy refereed the game between Colombia and West Germany which ended 1–1 at the San Siro in Milan. Ľubomír Moravčík
Ľubomír Moravčík (born 22 June 1965) is a Slovak football manager and former player. A creative midfielder renowned for his technical ability, he was capable of unleashing powerful, accurate shots, and pinpoint crosses with both feet. He played for teams in Czechoslovakia and Slovakia, France, Germany, Japan, and Scotland. During his time at Scottish club Celtic, Moravčík made 129 appearances, scoring 35 goals and winning two Scottish Premier League titles. Peter Dubovský (7 May 1972 – 23 June 2000) was a Slovak professional footballer who played as a forward. After starting his career with Slovan Bratislava he played seven years in Spain, amassing La Liga totals of 151 games and 19 goals for two teams. Dubovský died in 2000 at 28, while on vacation in Thailand. Club career Born in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia, Dubovský made his professional debut with local ŠK Slovan Bratislava, for whom he signed at the age of 13. UEFA Euro 2000 Qualifying
Qualifying for the UEFA Euro 2000 final tournament, took place throughout 1998 and 1999. Forty-nine teams were divided into nine groups. All teams played against each other, within their groups, on a home-and-away basis. The winner of each group and the best runner-up qualified automatically for the final tournament. The rest of the runners-up played an additional set of playoff matches amongst each other. Both Belgium and the Netherlands qualified automatically as co-hosts of the event.
