Şükrü Sarıışık (born 1945, Konya) is a retired Turkish general. He was Secretary-General of the National Security Council from 2003 to 2004, and then Commander of the Second Army. Mehmet Şükrü Saracoğlu (; 17 June 1887 – 27 December 1953) was a Turkish people, Turkish politician, the fifth prime minister of Turkey and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Turkey), Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs during the early stages of World War II. He signed the German–Turkish Treaty of Friendship in 1941, which would prevent Turkish involvement in the war. He was also the chairman of the Turkish sports club Fenerbahçe S.K. for 16 years between 1934 and 1950, including holding that post concurrently with his time as Prime Minister from 1942 to 1946. Mehmed Şükrü Pasha (; 1857 – 5 June 1916) was a Turkish general ( Birindji ferik) in the Ottoman Army. Biography He was the only child of Kolağası (Senior Captain) Mustafa and Muhsine from the Turkish Aybakan family, and was born in Erzurum in 1857. He started his education in Erzincan Military High School with great interest in military service when he was a child, but after his father's death, his mother remarried, he got offended, moved away from his environment, entered the Sütlüce Artillery School in Istanbul, and graduated from the War College in 1879 as an Artillery Lieutenant.
