Şenol Güneş
Şenol Güneş (, born 1 June 1952) is a Turkish football manager and former player who is currently the director of professional football for Süper Lig club Trabzonspor. His most notable managerial achievements to date include coaching the Turkey national team to third place in the 2002 FIFA World Cup and winning two Süper Lig titles; both of them with Beşiktaş. He is also noted for stints in his boyhood club Trabzonspor. His playing career there saw the club win six of their seven Süper Lig titles. Playing career Güneş began his amateur career at Erdoğdu Gençlik as a goalkeeper. Shortly after he was recruited for the Trabzonspor development team, and began playing for the senior team soon after. He played for Trabzonspor for twelve years between 1975 and 1987. 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup
The 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup football tournament was the sixth FIFA Confederations Cup, held in France in June 2003. France retained the title they had won in 2001, but the tournament was overshadowed by the death of Cameroon player Marc-Vivien Foé, who died of heart failure in his side's semi-final against Colombia. Foé's death united the France and Cameroon teams in the final match, which was played even though team players from both sides had explicitly stated that the match should not be played out of respect for Foé. France went on to win the trophy with a golden goal from Thierry Henry. At the presentation of medals and trophies, two Cameroon players held a gigantic photo of Foé, and a runner-up medal was hung to the edge of the photo. The 1996–97 UEFA Cup was the 26th season of the UEFA Cup, the third-tier club football competition organised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). It was won by German side Schalke 04, who beat Internazionale of Italy on penalties after the two-legged final finished 1–1 on aggregate. Ali Kemal Denizci (born 1 March 1950) is a Turkish football manager and former player. A winger, he played for Trabzonspor, Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş. He was nicknamed Fırtına Kemal (English: ''Storm Kemal'') because of his lightning pace. Club career Ali Kemal joined Trabzonspor in 1972 after a couple seasons of playing amateur football. He helped the team get promoted to the Süper Lig for the first time in their history, and was their superstar player when they won their first two Süper Lig titles in the 1975–76, and 1976–77 seasons. In 1978, Trabzonspor had to sell him to cover their revenues and he moved to Fenerbahçe, causing the Trabzonspor fans to riot in the streets. Necmi Perekli (born 1948) is a Turkish former association football, footballer. Necmi played for Trabzonspor in the late 1970s, becoming the first player of Trabzonspor to become the top scorer in Turkish 1st league (became Turkish Super League since 2002–03 season). He scored 18 goals in 22 appearances in the 1976–77 season, helping them to retain the title they had won for the first time the previous season. The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), also known as Trendyol Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Turkey and the highest level of the Turkish football league system. In the 2023–2024 season, twenty clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promotion and relegation, promoted from, and another four relegated to the TFF First League, 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 36 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday.
