Yenibosna
Yenibosna or Yenibosna Merkez is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Bahçelievler, western Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 37,130 (2022). The neighbourhood is in the west of Bahçelievler, bordering with the neighbor district Küçükçekmece. History The earliest population record was 350 people. The original settlement was initially named Saraybosna, the Turkish name for the city Sarajevo, which had previously been under Turkish rule during the Ottoman Empire period. Saraybosna remained a small settlement despite being a short distance from Istanbul, the capital of the Ottoman Empire. The founding of the Republic of Turkey saw a rapid development of the area, which was absorbed into Istanbul and the current name of Yenibosna ("New Bosnia") was adopted. Bahçelievler (meaning "houses with gardens" in Turkish) is a municipality and district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its area is 17 km2 (0.3% of Istanbul Province), and its population is 594,350 (2022). It is a large middle class residential suburb of Istanbul, on the European side of the city.
