Şarkışla is a town in the Central Anatolian Sivas Province of Turkey. It is the seat of Şarkışla District.İlçe Belediyesi

Its population is 23,707 (2022). The mayor is Kasim Gültekin (Great Unity Party, BBP). Aşık Veysel, one of the most famous Turkish folk literature, Turkish folk poets and folk music singers of the 20th century were born in Şarkışla, as well as another earlier poet (19th century) named Aşık Sefil Kanberi. The well known Turkish originated female Dutch people, Dutch politician Nebahat Albayrak was born (1968) in Maksutlu village of this town as well. Aşık Veysel Meslek Yüksekokulu
Aşık Veysel Meslek Yüksekokulu (en. ''Vocational High School of Aşık Veysel'') is a higher education provider vocational school in Şarkışla the district of Sivas Province in Turkey. Sivas Province
Sivas Province () is a province of Turkey. It is located in the eastern part of the Central Anatolia region of Turkey. Its area is 28,164 km2 (the second largest province after Konya), and its population is 634,924 (2022). Its adjacent provinces are Yozgat to the west, Kayseri to the southwest, KahramanmaraÅŸ to the south, Malatya to the southeast, Erzincan to the east, Giresun to the northeast, and Ordu to the north. Nebahat Albayrak
Nebahat Albayrak (born 10 April 1968) is a retired Turkish–Dutch politician of the Labour Party (PvdA) and jurist. She is a corporate director at Upstream International a division of Royal Dutch Shell since 5 November 2012. Biography Albayrak moved to the Netherlands in 1970. In 1993, Albayrak graduated from Leiden University in international and European law. As part of her degree, she also attended lectures in Ankara at Ankara University and the Institut d'Études Françaises, and in Paris at the Institut d'Études Politiques. She worked at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations from 1993 to 1998. From 1998 to 2007, she was a member of the Dutch House of Representatives.
