Ōtaki is a town in the Kāpiti Coast District of the North Island of New Zealand, situated halfway between the capital city Wellington, to the southwest, and Palmerston North, to the northeast. Ōtaki is located on New Zealand State Highway 1 and the North Island Main Trunk Rail transport, railway between Wellington and Auckland and marks the northernmost point of the Wellington Region. Ōtaki (New Zealand Electorate)
Ōtaki (previously Otaki) is a New Zealand Parliamentary electorate, spanning part of the west coast of the lower North Island. The bulk of its population comes from the Horowhenua District, but it also takes in part of the northern Kāpiti Coast, including the towns of Ōtaki and Waikanae, and part of Paraparaumu. The current MP for Ōtaki is Tim Costley of the New Zealand National Party. He has held this position since the 2023 election. History In the 1892 electoral redistribution, population shift to the North Island required the transfer of one seat from the South Island to the north. The resulting ripple effect saw every electorate established in 1890 have its boundaries altered, and eight electorates were established for the first time, including Otaki. is a Japanese footballer who plays as a forward for JEF United Chiba. She has also played for the Japan national team. Club career Otaki was born in Hiratsuka on July 28, 1989. After graduating from Waseda University, she joined French Division 1 club Olympique Lyonnais in 2012. The club won 2011–12 UEFA Champions League. is a Japanese ice hockey player and member of the Japanese national ice hockey team, currently playing with DK Peregrine in the Women's Japan Ice Hockey League (WJIHL) and All-Japan Women's Ice Hockey Championship. Eiichi Ohtaki
was a Japanese musician, singer-songwriter and record producer. He first became known as a member of the rock band Happy End, but was better known for his solo work which began in 1972. In 2003, Ohtaki was ranked by HMV at number 9 on their list of the 100 most important Japanese pop acts. Patrick Macias referred to Ohtaki as Phil Spector, Brian Wilson, George Martin and Joe Meek "synthesized into a single human being," and called his work "an encyclopedia of everything that was great about pop music in the 20th century."
