Ōminato Station
is a railway station in the city of Mutsu, Aomori, Japan, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East). Lines Ōminato Station is the northern terminus of the Ōminato Line, and lies 58.4 km from the southern terminus of the line at Noheji Station. Wakinosawa, Aomori
was a village located in Shimokita District in northern Aomori Prefecture, Japan. History Wakinosawa Village was founded in 1889 from the merger the hamlets of Wakinosawa with neighboring Ozawa. On March 14, 2005, Wakinosawa, along with the neighboring towns of Kawauchi and Ōhata (all from Shimokita District), was merged into the neighboring and expanded city of Mutsu, and thus no longer exists as an independent municipality. Geography and economy Located at the southwestern tip of Shimokita Peninsula facing Mutsu Bay, the village of Wakinosawa had an economy based primarily on commercial fishing. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a railway platform, platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or bus rapid transit, transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Noheji Station
is a railway station located in the central district of the town of Noheji in Aomori Prefecture, Japan. The station has been operating since 1891. Since 2010, the station has been jointly operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and the Aoimori Railway Company, a third sector, regional rail operator. The station is the southern terminus of JR East's Ōminato Line and was formerly the northern terminus of the Nanbu Jūkan Railway.
