Lipno (Polish pronunciation: ; ) is a town in Poland, in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, about southeast of Toruナ. It is the administrative seat of Lipno County and of Gmina Lipno. Its population is 14,791 (2010). The town is the birthplace of actress Pola Negri, economist Leszek Balcerowicz and politician Ya'akov Meridor. History Lipno dates back to the Middle Ages, when it was part of the Piast-ruled Kingdom of Poland. In 1349 it was granted town rights. Administratively Lipno was located in the Dobrzyナ Land in the InowrocナBw Voivodeship in the Greater Poland Province of the Polish Crown. 49er (dinghy)
The 49er and 49er FX is a two-handed skiff (sailing), skiff-type high-performance sailing dinghy. The two crew work on different roles with the helmsman, helm making many tactical decisions, as well as steering, and the crew doing most of the sail control. Both of the crew are equipped with their own Trapeze (sailing), trapeze and sailing is done while cantilevered over the water to the fullest extent to balance against the sails. The 49er was designed by Julian Bethwaite (the son of Frank Bethwaite) and developed by a consortium consisting of Bethwaites, Performance Sailcraft Japan, Peter Johnston, and Ovington boats. The boat has been an Olympic class since it was selected by the International Sailing Federation to be the men's high performance double handed dinghy Sailing at the 2000 Summer Olympics, Sydney Summer Games of 2000. Poland competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This was the nation's twentieth appearance at the Summer Olympics, having missed the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles because of the Soviet boycott.
