UÄŸur AktaÅŸ (born 10 October 1995) is a European champion Turkish karateka competing in the kumite 84 kg division. He won one of the bronze medals in the men's +75 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. He is a member of İstanbul BüyükÅŸehir Belediyesi S.K. He won one of the bronze medals in the men's 84 kg event at the 2022 Mediterranean Games held in Oran, Algeria. Zeynep Murat Duran (born Zeynep Murat on September 15, 1983) is a European champion Turkish female Taekwondo practitioner. She is a member of İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi S.K. Murat was born in Kayseri, Turkey. She studied physical education and sports at Erciyes University in her hometown. At age 13, she began practising with the initiative of her father Mehmet Murat, who wanted her to become courageous. She was coached in the beginning for about one year by Arzu Tan, a former world champion. Murat took part at the 2000 Korean Open Tournament in Chuncheon, at which she won the gold medal in the juniors category and was named "Most Technical Junior Woman Athlete". She took a gold medal at the 2000 World Cup in Lyon, France. In 2004, she became the European champion in Lillehammer, Norway. Bahri Tanrıkulu
Bahri Tanrıkulu (born March 16, 1980, in Ankara, Turkey) is a Turkish taekwondo practitioner, who competed in the Men's 80 kg division at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens, Greece and won the silver medal. He studied at Akdeniz University. He is Turkey's first World and European Taekwondo champion. He was a member of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club before he transferred to Kocaeli Büyükşehir Belediyesi Kağıt Spor Kulübü. The tall athlete is student of physical education and sports at Akdeniz University. He qualified for participation at the 2012 Summer Olympics where he reached the semi-final. Ali Sofuoğlu (born 3 June 1995) is a Turkish karateka competing in the kata. He is a member of Kağıthane Belediyesi S.K. In 2021, he won one of the bronze medals in the men's kata event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. He won the gold medal in the men's individual kata event at the 2023 World Karate Championships held in Budapest, Hungary. Career Ali Sofuoğlu was already European champion at the cadet level in 2010 and 2011. In the juniors he was runner-up three times in a row from 2011 to 2013.
