İstanbul-Halkalı Commuter Line
The Istanbul suburban railway, locally referred to as B1 (), was an important rail line in Istanbul, Turkey. It was operated by the Turkish State Railways and was one of Istanbul's two commuter rail lines (the other being the Haydarpaşa suburban). Carrying an average of 22,200 passengers daily, it was the second-busiest commuter railway in Turkey, after the Haydarpaşa suburban. The Istanbul Commuter Railway is a historical line, being the first rail line to be electrified and being the first commuter railway in Turkey. Since it opened on December 4, 1955, the E8000 series have been in operation. In the 1970s, the E14000 series came into service and in 2010 the new EUROTEM built E23000 series began service. The line was closed in 2014 and all tracks have been removed for renovation and incorporation into the new Marmaray network which started operation in 2013 between Ayrılıkçeşmesi and Kazlıçeşme. Zeytinburnu Railway Station
Zeytinburnu station () is an under construction station in Zeytinburnu, Istanbul. The new platform will replace the 62 year old station opened in 1955. The original station was opened on 4 December 1955 as part of the Istanbul suburban commuter rail service between Istanbul Sirkeci Terminal, Sirkeci and Halkalı railway station, Halkalı. Sirkeci Railway Station
Sirkeci railway station (), listed on maps as Istanbul railway station (), is a railway terminal in Istanbul, Turkey. The terminal is located in Sirkeci, on the tip of Istanbul's historic peninsula, right next to the Golden Horn and just northwest of Gülhane Park and the Topkapı Palace. Sirkeci Terminal on the European side of the Bosporus strait, along with Haydarpaşa Terminal on the Asian side, are Istanbul's two intercity and commuter railway terminals. Yedikule Railway Station
Yedikule station is a formerly indefinitely closed railway station on the Istanbul suburban. It is located in the Yedikule neighborhood in southwest Fatih. The ''Yedikule Electric Train Depot'' is located right next to the station but was closed down in the early 2000s. The station had one track servicing an island platform (eastbound track) during the construction of the Marmaray tunnels, the westbound track being temporarily removed. Yenikapı Railway Station
Yenikapı was an indefinitely closed railway station on the İstanbul-Halkalı Line in the Yenikapı neighborhood of Istanbul, Turkey. The station was built in 1872 by the Oriental Railway which was then taken over by the Turkish State Railways in 1937 and electrified in 1955. The station is situated near the south end of the busy Gazi Mustafa Kemal Paşa Boulevard and one block north of Kennedy St, two major inner-city roadways and is west of Sirkeci Terminal. Due to the rehabilitation of the line between Halkalı and Kazlıçeşme for future Marmaray commuter service, Yenikapı was indefinitely closed on 19 March 2013. Kumkapı Railway Station
Kumkapı (meaning "sand gate" in Turkish) is a quarter in Fatih district of Istanbul. It is located along the northern shore of Marmara Sea. Up to recent times, Kumkapı is the center of the Armenian community of the city, boasting a school and several churches. Cankurtaran Railway Station
Cankurtaran is a railway station on the Istanbul suburban, in Istanbul, Turkey. It is located in the neighborhood of Cankurtaran in the historic peninsula of İstanbul. The station is located on Şadırvan Street. Cankurtaran is just a block north of Kennedy Boulevard, along with the shoreline and a few blocks south of the Hagia Sophia and the Imperial Gate to the Topkapı Palace.
