İncirlik () is a town and former municipality in the Sarıçam district of Adana Province in southern Turkey, 8 km (5 mi) east of the centre of Adana. Its population is 15,763 (2022). Climate Governance İncirlik municipality was established within the Yüreğir district in 1971. Incirlik Air Base
Incirlik Air Base () is a Republic of Turkey, Turkish air base of slightly more than 3320 ac (1335 ha), located in the İncirlik quarter of the city of Adana, Turkey. The base is within an urban area of 1.7 million people, east of the city core, and inland from the Mediterranean Sea. The United States Air Force and the Turkish Air Force are the primary users of the air base, although it is at times also used by the Royal Air Force and the Royal Saudi Air Force. The base is also the home of the 74th Anti-aircraft Artillery Regiment (MIM-104 Patriot, Patriot unit) of the Spanish Army. Yüreğir () is a district-municipality of the Adana Province. It is the second most populated district of the province with a population of over 400 thousand, mostly concentrated on the east side of the Seyhan river, within the city of Adana. Many of the provincial institutions are located in Yüreğir, including the Provincial and Regional Courts of Justice, Health Directorate, Social Security Directorate and Agriculture Directorate. Yüreğir covers the area between the Seyhan River and the Ceyhan River, south of the Sarıçam and north of the Karataş districts. Muhtar (title)
A muhtar is the elected village head in villages of Turkey and in villages of Northern Cyprus, the Turkish occupied part of the Republic of Cyprus. In city, cities, likewise, each neighbourhood has a muhtar but with a slightly different status. Muhtars and their village councils () are elected during local elections for five years.
