İkiköprü (, ) is a town (belde) in the Beşiri District of Batman Province in Turkey. The town is populated by Kurds of the Reşkotan tribe and had a population of 3,455 in 2021. Belde
Belde (literally "town", also known as ''kasaba'') means "large village with a municipality" in Turkish language, Turkish. All Turkish province centers and district centers have municipalities, but the Villages of Turkey, villages are usually too small to have municipalities. The population in some villages may exceed 2000 and in such villages a small municipality may be established depending on residents' choice. Such villages are called ''belde''. Up to 2014 the number of ''belde'' municipalities was about 1400. On 30 March 2014 by the act no. 6360 all villages (those with and without municipality) were included in the urban fabric of the district municipalities in 30 provinces. Thus ''belde'' municipalities in 30 provinces were abolished. The number of abolished ''belde'' municipalities is 1040. Batman Province
Batman Province (, ; ) is a province in Turkey. It was created in May 1990 with the Law No. 3647 taking some parts from the eastern Province of Siirt and some from the southern Province of Mardin. Its area is 4,477 km2, and its population is 634,491 (2022). Its current governor is Ekrem Canalp. The province is considered part of Turkish Kurdistan and has a Kurdish majority. Nûbihar
Nûbihar also known as Kent Işıkları (, ) is an academic publisher founded in March 1992 in Istanbul, Turkey. The publishing house specialises on topics pertaining to Kurds. The publication is named after a work of Ehmedê Xanî. History Nûbihar was founded as a Nursi-influenced publication house just after the ban on the Kurdish was lifted. Even though it was legal to publish in Kurdish, its work remained a high-risk activity as local officials were ready to stifle Kurdish cultural activities by any chance. Nonetheless, Nûbihar survived any closure arguably because its publications were of religious and cultural nature and not political.
