İbrahim Tatlıses
İbrahim Tatlıses (born İbrahim Tatlı in 1952) is a Turkish folk singer and former actor of Arab-Kurdish descent. Since the 1970s he has been one of the best-known and most successful singers of the pop '' Arabesk'' style. Tatlıses has recorded 42 albums, including notable albums such as ''Ayağında Kundura'' and ''Selam Olsun'' and was the host of the highly popular television programme ''İbo Show''. He was also a leading actor that appeared in several dozen films, and also has had many business ventures. Urfa
Urfa, officially called Şanlıurfa (), is a city in southeastern Turkey and the capital of Şanlıurfa Province. ''Neden'' (''Why?'') is a 2008 Turkish-language pop album by Kurdish-Turkish singer İbrahim Tatlıses. The album was Tatlıses return to music after having stood as a candidate for Cem Uzan's populist and liberal Genç Parti (Young Party) in Istanbul in the July 2007 Turkish general election, where the Party failed to make the minimum national votes to have representation. Tatlıses composed his own title track "Neden" ("why?) and released this as lead single, becoming one of his best known songs. The song starts with "Ben ağlarken gülüyorsun neden" ("Why do you laugh when I cry") and repeats the refrain "why" in almost every line of the song. The album's second track is a cover of "Kop Gel Günahlarından" by female pop singer Yıldız Tilbe, which marks the last time Tatlıses would work with Tilbe before a break of all connections in 2009. People's Defense Units
The People's Defense Units (YPG), also called People's Protection Units, is a libertarian socialist US-backed Kurdish militant group in Syria and the primary component of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Afrin, Syria
Afrin (; ) is a Kurdish majority city in northern Syria. In the Afrin District, it is part of the Aleppo Governorate. The total population of the district was recorded at 172,095 people, of whom 70,000 lived in the town of Afrin itself. The town and district are named after the Afrin River. Operation Olive Branch () was an invasion by the Turkish Armed Forces and Syrian National Army (SNA) in the Kurdish-majority Afrin District of northwest Syria, against the People's Protection Units (YPG) of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The air war and use of major artillery ended as the Arab and Turkmen militias of the SNA entered the city of Afrin on 18 March 2018.
