Đông Triều is a provincial city (Vietnam), city of Quảng Ninh Province in the Northeast (Vietnam), north-eastern region of Vietnam. As of 2015 the district had a population of 173,141. The district covers an area of 397.2155 km². The town capital lies at Đông Triều ward. Provincial City (Vietnam)
A provincial city () is a type of list of district-level subdivisions in Vietnam, second-level subdivision of Vietnam. It has equal status along with list of urban districts of Vietnam, urban districts, district (Vietnam), districts, municipal city, municipal cities, and district-level town, towns. Also by virtue of Decree No. 42/2009/ND-CP, provincial cities are officially classified into Class-1, Class-2 or Class-3. The cities can only subordinate to provinces as a second-tier unit. At the third tier, provincial cities are divided into ward (Vietnam), wards and commune (Vietnam), communes, the latter of which apply to the more suburban parts. Commune (Vietnam)
A commune () is a type of third tier subdivision of Vietnam. It is divided into 11,162 units along with Ward (Vietnam), wards and Commune-level town (Vietnam), townships, which have an equal status. Communes have a lower status than Provincial city (Vietnam), provincial cities, County-level town (Vietnam), towns or District (Vietnam), districts. This subdivision has existed since 1428, when Emperor Lê Thái Tổ re-organised the country into five administrative levels. Xã 社 was the lowest level, equivalent to a village. Since 2019, Vietnam has undertaken a comprehensive rearrangement of administrative units in order to streamline the apparatus of local authorities. The re-organisation, conducted in two periods, between 2020 and 2023 and between 2023 and 2030, comprises forced mergers of several districts and commune-level administrative units and localities. Yên Đức
Yên Đức is a rural commune () and village of Đông Triều town in Quảng Ninh Province, Vietnam. The village is about 60 km to the west of Hạ Long Bay on the way from and to Hanoi. Yen Duc Village is a typical Vietnamese agricultural village in terms of culture and traditions. The village is surrounded by mountains which are mirrored in the Kinh Thầy River.
